What I meant to say is I don't know enough about the suspension and drive line limits of the JK.

1 Dana 44 front and rear is best but that is only in the rubicon. Otherwise you get a d44 rear and d30 front. If you need more strength you can always sleeve and gusset the front
2) the magic number is 2.5 for 2dr and 3" for 4. After that you need front drive shafts and possibly adjustable lower control arms And front and rear track bars. That being said you CAN go bigger but if you want to stay under $700-$1000 those are the magic numbers. Plus with flat flares you can throw 37" tires on it with just a 2.5" lift
3) if you have kids I'd recommend an unlimited. I have a 2 door and would love the extra cargo room but I have cargo racks and an off road trailer instead and that is almost as good. Definitely avoid the 4x2 wranglers. You want 4x4. I love the sports cuz I like the plastic flares better but that's preference. If you can find a manual with 3.73 gears that would probably give you the best power In a pre-2012 wrangler. if you can afford the 2012 you should get it but if not, it's probably not worth waiting a couple years to find cheaper used 2012's

Maybe new to JK
Lately I have been thinking about parting out my TJ and building up a JK. I have never owned, lifted, or otherwise even worked on a JK so I've got a couple basic questions...
1) Are there certain axle combinations to look for
2) What's the average magic number on lift height before you have to spend a whole lot more money, and why (Is there a need for an SYE/new shaft for example)
3) Is there a certain year or package that would be more desired (besides a rubi - probably out of my budget at the moment)
That's about all for now. I'd appreciate any comments any of you have.
