Lifted89 I have 4.2 5 speed in my 89. I have heard about nutter bypass but have not found a lot of instructional posts. Had jeep about a month and half. Finally getting to engine and some repairs. Anyone point me in direction for nutter bypass and what I should expect from it? Thanks in advance. If talked to death, I'm sorry.

I agree, and I will be regearing at some point. I just don't have the funds or space right now to do a full motor/tranny swap. I can use my imagination to pass people. Whatever helps!

I think that's all besides regearing or motor swap. From all the searching I've done, looking for more performance, it's all stuff on the multiport injection. I'm happy with my 2.5 but I'd like to be able to pass people while going up a hill. I do have an opportunity to buy a multi port injection system from a friend, I probably will do the swap so I can get bigger injectors and the 4.0 throttle body.

The newer 2.5 with multi port injection, you can swap in the 4.0 throttle body, bigger injectors, add a electric fan and get rid of the clutch fan, a good header/ exhaust system, full tune up. The other thing is to re gear your axles.

The older 2.5 with throttle body injection, what I have, there's not much but the e fan, exhaust system, and tune up.
