Thanks, but it turned out to be the dash cluster causing the issue. Once that was put back in all the lights started working.

silver rubi have you tried replacing the fuse under the hood for the interior lights? I had a similar issue with mine.

Dragonii Well, they work now. As soon as I put the dash cluster back in the all came on. I had no idea that the cluster had anything to do with that.

s3nt3nc3d If yes, move on to Step #2.

Step #2: Check the fuse (Done)

Step #3: Pull the door switches out of the door jam (just grab the base and pull firmly straight out) and make sure they are still connected to their wire harnesses...if not, there should be a connector back there (you can reach underneath and feel for it...then push it back through the hole where the plunger goes and reconnect it). If those are disconnected, it will prevent the lights from working and disable the chimes as well.

Step #4: Trace the wiring back...look for a switch somewhere that's wired into that circuit to cut out both door switches that may be hidden under the dash or something.

Step #5: Come back here and pray somebody else has the answer. lol

Sherpa Step #1: verify that your interior light(s) can work by rotating the headlight plunger all the way until it clicks. Does that make the light(s) come on?

Moparguy Make sure there are bulbs in the lights. Someone had removed all the bulbs from mine because they didn't know how to adjust the door switch and the lights stayed on all the time.

Dragonii Well, I replaced the #4 fuse. Still not working.

Dragonii No clips on the doors, but I did notice today that the headlight doesn't chime when I leave it on. lol

blue6tj is there clips on the door light switch in the door jam?

sparky Make sure there is a fuse in #4 behind the glove box. That's the light defeat one for taking the doors off. It also stops the headlight chime when pulled.

Interior lights not working...

The 2006 TJ that I just bought does not seem to have working interior lights. Nor does it ding when the doors are open. There is evidence that the original owner drove her without the doors on so I am pretty confident that this was done on purpose.
I checked the fuse panel behind the glove box, it seems to have a fuse (subwoofer fuse is missing though), I checked in the fuse box under the hood and it seems to have the proper fuse as well.

Any other ideas on what/where to look?

Other issues are, not sure if this has any effect or not.... the dash instrument cluster is missing. It was shipped off to have that all 8's on the odometer issue fixed, could the fact that it is missing have anything to do with the interior lights not working? The ac/heat panel doesn't light up either but that I figured probably is related to the gauge cluster being out. If they feed off of a daisy chained power line it could be kind of like pulling a Christmas tree bulb out and the whole tree goes black.

Any way, let me know if you can think of anything that I should look for.

And the cluster is already on it's way back so that will be fixed soon.
