Thanks! Stoked to get out on some fun roads.

Managed to get a fair amount of pinstriping from the bush, a neccesary evil of off roading in BC.

johnnykuta Installed today - VHF digital radio, VHF antenna and GPS antenna. The GPS antenna is used in combo with the radio which has a GPS unit in it. It sends the location of the Jeep via a VHF channel to another radio (at our rescue base) which then sends the signal to a computer which tracks the location of each GPS enabled radio.

johnnykuta Phase two complete.

Took forever to get the parts in.

Front bumper, HID lights, and bushwacker flares installed.

Sprayed the HID light covers w tint, which you can see in the last photo. Unfortunately it does dim the lights quite a bit so will have to remove the covers when I turn them on (or buy new untinted covers). Wired them into the same relay as the fogs.

Next phase, smittybuilt side armor, and then I will take a break..I hope...

johnnykuta Didn't really drive it before putting the lift on and tires so don't know about change in mileage. I didn't buy the jeep for gas mileage though.

If I cared about that i would have bought a Prius
02-20-2012 09:37 PM
dalearyous really curious on the change in MPG
02-20-2012 09:16 PM

johnnykuta Thanks! Ya some good wheeling up towards Squamish!

So far with 35's and 4.10 gears, jeep feels great. Quick off the line plenty of power ripping around. I dont even really notice a difference from stock. I was worried it would be a pig with such heavy tires. I think you could easily get away with 37s on this set up.

I've had rigs with way less power that wheeled just fine.

mckron Nice rig, man! North Shore Off-Road, I used to run with a few of the guys that worked there years ago, bombing around N.Van and up to Squamish and Whistler on jeep runs. I really, really miss jeeping out there. Never been the same.

Couple of guys from Jeep-Thrills too, forgot about them.
02-09-2012 06:53 PM
johnnykuta thanks!! I am pumped!

I live in Vancouver, so North Shore Off-Road is the place to go to get your work done here. Very professional shop, they do a great job.

BRADWRANGLER2011 That is a SHARP jeep.Where is the place located thats doing the work on your jeep.
02-09-2012 05:03 PM
johnnykuta Some shots of the lift rims tires and tire carrier.

Need some better lighting to take better shots
02-06-2012 06:59 PM
johnnykuta This jeep was parked out front of North Shore Off-Road where i am getting the work done. Nice rig.

37" procomp on 17" rims. A whole lot of work done it.
02-06-2012 06:51 PM
johnnykuta thanks, i'm stoked!

I removed all the stickers and emblems. Jeep is in the shop right now!

Getting installed -
3" BDS lift
Teraflex Exhaust spacer
35" Nitto Trail Grapplers
Fuel Hostage Rims
Smitty Built XRC Tire Carrier - Smittybilt Rear XRC Bumper with 2" Receiver in Textured Black for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

AEV Procal will be used once tires are on, and may look at getting the rear pinch seam adjusted to allow for more space for the 35's. We'll see how it looks but likely they will need some work.

In a few weeks getting front bumper, side armor, lights and flares - just waiting for parts to come in.

I wish that was my garage! That was the tint shop's garage. ;-)

47 kms on the odometer so far.
02-03-2012 05:15 PM
strider_mt2k I don't see a Jeep emblem on the grill either.
VERY clean.

Possibly removed?

EDIT
With a garage like that, I'm going to say enthusiast who has already been at the thing.

Looks darn good!
Yeah, black Jeeps are very cool, I just don't want to take care of that finish.
