Whether you have a stick or auto also makes a big difference as well as the type of driving you do.
I only do about 10 freeway miles every 2 weeks. I have a 4.0 4Spd Auto and get around 12mpg.

Just take a Mulligan and get out from under the chair. There are so many threads / posts / opinions / facts about MPGs and a bunch of other really cool stuff here on the WF that you might want to do a search first, just in case there are posts and threads already in the works. That way, the chance of getting flamed diminishes somewhat.
Anyway, welcome to the WF and ...

|TJWenatchee||We all seem like a broken record. My 97 has a 4.0 with a 5 speed. 4" of total lift running 4.56 gears on 33 x 10.5 BFG's KO's. A combo of highway and city gets me 12.5-13 miles to the Gallon. On a road trip to Seattle (mostly around 60 mph with one mountain pass and 27 psi in the tires) at 150 miles I got not quite 16 MPG. I did pull most of the pass at about 55 mph in 5th gear (so glad I re geared) at about 2100-2200 rpm's. As the ads always say "your mileage may vary".|

This thread comes up almost daily. 12-13mpg is typical calculated if you have large tires, stock gearing, and stock speedo gear. People commonly make the mistake of "dividing miles driven by gallons used"....without adjusting for the larger tires. Throws the calculation off.
Most will see about 15-18mpg.

not another mpg question...
i doubt you're getting 12-13 with a 2.5L unless you're running 37's, something is broken, or you dont do tuneups
I have a 2.5 and get around 18-19 mpg on avg with about 5" of lift and 32x11.5's...5 speed and stock 4.10's

|Atthehop||First you need to compute the actual MPG not guessing. It will not be high so accuracy counts. Then we need to know more about the vehicle, lift, tires, trans, etc.....|
