Vin Programing problem with the bad key. If your dealer won't help you out, plan on spending 100 bucks for the programing.

Key problems 2008 JKU

I got two of the electronic key fobs when I bought this Jeep used. Both keys will start it up. The electronic door locks and panic button work fine on one key but not on the other one. I changed out the battery but it made no difference.

If it lost it's programming I wouldn't think that it would start the vehicle.

If you electronically lock it with the good key then try to manually open it with the other, the alarm goes off, but if you lock it with the power lock on the door you can open it manually with the bad key with no alarm.

Any thoughts? Is it a program problem with the bad key, or just a bad transmitter in the key?
