EdCrbnSoul Yup just sit in your Jeep with the engine turned off listening to the radio and you can hear the motors opening and closing whatever doors they control. Reminds me of the control surfaces of Iron Mans suit.

kbwwolf Here's a thread about it:

Only thing I could figure was the fans going on/off. Any ideas?
You're not alone. Somebody recently described it as the sound a CD player makes when it's changing a disc?

Some kinda fan motor for the radio/sat/nav system. I've heard mine do it when I've been working on it in the garage.

Thrasher722 I have a Sport Unlimited with the auto trans/locks/doors and tow package.

Thanks for all of the info

Already happened but I was trying to make it stop going back and forth so much I actually honked my horn while passing a cop @ a stop sign. +1

Matador What trim level Wrangler do you have? Sport, Sahara, Rubicon?

TrueNorth Not all features of the "Power convenience group" are logical. You can reprogram the settings or just get used to it.

The headlights go off automatically after 30 seconds if you shut the engine off before you turn off the lights.
If you just leave them on the dash alarm with ding when you open the door. Same with leaving your keys in the ignituion with the motor off.
If you turn your lights off before you shut off the engine they stay off.
headlights come on automatically along with your dome light when you use the remote to unlock the doors.

Just wait till you discover the one touch turn signals with a cop behind you!

I don't have auto lights & I think it must be a pre set timer based on the comments here. My Jeep does have auto locks/window but that's about as far as the package goes, no EVIC so I guess everything is fine.

CAdams Are you talking about when you turn off your vehicle and turn off your headlights and they are still on? If so, it could just be that they stay on for a minute or two before they shut off. This happens to me at night, everything is turned off and by the time I get in the house and take off my shoes, the lights are just going off.
I believe they're set on a variable timer, however I could be wrong.

kbwwolf Can't help w/the headlight issue...JK headlights suck, and I've got aftermarket lights. Never had a problem with them going on or off when I didn't want em to.

If you have an EVIC (on board computer), have you checked it to see how long the headlights are set to stay on (it's variable)? Could be some glitch there. Or with the setting on your control stalk. I turn my headlights on/off manually using the stalk, but sometimes accidentally set it on the auto setting.

You need a #40 Torx bit for the hard top.

And welcome to WF.

Headlight Issues

I got a 2012 4door JK back in December and yesterday I had an issue with my headlights. I had to turn them on and off 3 times to finally get them to turn off. This is my first American made vehicle, hope this isn't a omen of things to come because I really like my Jeep.

I was dondering if this is a common issue with the JK?

On another note, I want to take my top off and all of my torque bits are too small, can anoyone tell me what size I need to pickup?
