The round plug goes on the round connector pointing straight back at the back of the transmission just above the end of the oil pan. There will or should be a small metal wire clip that looks like a small version of the window crank clip that keeps it in place and connected.

|TheTJRod||From the ground distro diagram. It looks like all the wires you need are on a 4 pin connector further up the wires where that 2 pin plug is and I think I can see it in your picture. Also on the transmission diagram it shows the wires needed for the torque converter.|

|TheTJRod||You got the 32RH then. I went through a 2001 wiring manual and screen grabbed all the mentions of the difference of the manual and auto. Hope it helps you track your problem down. From the look of it and the diagrams it is the Neutral/Park or Back up Lamp Switch. Check the wire colors on the plug and you should be able to figure out what it is.|

Do you know what year the tranny came from? Also I believe your mileage is now incorrect as it's stored in the PCM. Just something to note. 97-02 32RH, 03-06 42RLE. Also the 42RLE has an overdrive and the 32RH doesn't.

|quadsquad||Also, to you guys that have done this swap and J.B., can you tell buy the picture i posted at the top if these are the correct plugs that jerry bransford is talking about. cant seem to find where the one that is not round would plug in.|

|quadsquad||No they were just hanging there. The neutrol safety does not work. I can crank in any gear. How to tell if it is the 32rh?|

Assuming the transmission is a 32RH, are both connectors plugged into their jacks near the rear of the transmission on the driver's side? One controls the lockup torque converter and the other connects the NSS (neutral safety switch) and Reverse lights.
The lockup torque converter needs to be connected and working because the transmission will run hotter if it isn't working.

tj standard to auto swap check engine light
Hey guys first post. Just bought a 01 tj with the 4.0. It has had the standard taken out and an auto dropped in. The check engine light is on. I don't remember the check engine code but it had something to do with it not knowing what gear it is in. I found two plugs unplugged near where the shift linkage connects to the trans. Also the reverse light do not work. Any help would be sweet!
