What year TJ and to confirm, you also have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge installed?

Early TJs do have "real" oil pressure gauges in that they show the true oil pressure.

Plowboy1970 If the mechanical gauge never goes to 0 I would not change the pump. What oil you running?

Plowboy1970 Sorry to hear that. My dash gauge went goofy like they do and I put in a real gauge too. Hot it will get down to 10 the lowest. But running 2K it will hold 40+ Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

Mike5087 Yes a real one

Plowboy1970 You use a real oil pressure gauge and not the dash gauge?

Mike5087 Ya I've seen the mods to the oil pan already. Ya running like 5-7 lbs at idle.

Plowboy1970 From what I have read, the HV will not fit in the stock oil pan. Now will it? I have not done it, just from what I read. Got oil pressure problems??

oil pressure issues, replacing oil pump

I'm replacing my oil pump. Would it be better to get a high volume pump or just a replacement? Thanks folks!
