|JCS05Rubi||Don't be afraid by the all terrains. I have a rubicon, and its my daily driver. I go on a couple wheeling trips a year, mostly un-maintained logging (oil pump) trails in the mountains of WV, and go to offroad parks a few times a year. I plan on BFG ATs myself. I have the MT/Rs now, and the amount of street driving I do (MPG, comfort, mileage out of tires) far outweights off road performance. Plus, the way I see it, If I can't get there in a Jeep, with Lockers, 4:1 transfer case, and A/Ts, I probably don't need to be there|

After i installed my 35s i feel like i'm getting very similar mpg if not a bit better mpg. From the looks of it its better but i havent gone through a full tank of gas yet so i cant tell you for sure.
Installing the lift kit is easy, just takes a while.. start saturday am, finish sunday.. easy
For streets i'd look into KOs, from memory i think some one here was saying they were getting 40-50k miles on a set of MTZs

|orange05tj||I have the same setup. 3.73, 33's, and on the highway I'm getting better mpg's. I'm also going 98 miles one way to work. Used to 1 full tank there and back with the stock tires, now I'm back home with over a 1/4 tank. thats also running 65 mph on cruise.|

|2much||sounds like the AT's would be the best option for you. With the 6 cyl, 4 spd, and 3.73's you will be ok running 33's without regearing immediatly, but because you have the dana 44's you can regear your axles later. as for mpg's I know it won't be anywhere near 35. my guess would be 11-13, but some other guys with autos, may have some more accurate numbers than me.|

|orange05tj||I do 90% highway with mine and burned up a set of M/T's in about 5000 miles. I have 33" BFG A/T's now and couln't be happier. Dont even look like I drove on them yet.|

Heres some more info guys. I do mostly street with some wheelin so I was leaning towards the A/T's. I have the 4.0, 4 spd auto, 3.73 gears on dana 44.
Im pretty good with a wrench and the bolt on kit is probly no biggie, 6-8 hours sounds like a fun Sat. afternoon. The reason im concerned about mpg is because my clutch on my 2nd car (chevy cavalier 35 mpg) just went bad and they are a PITA to swap, so Im gonna be driving the jeep to work for a little while (85 miles round trip).
Anybody got any pics of 4" lift with BFG's?

I did 4" lift last year and it took me about 8 hrs total, but I am handicapped and do a lot of the work sitting in a chair, so you should be able to do it in less time. I did not need to get longer brake lines, but I don't really do much off road at this point so I don't know if they are long anough at full flex My mileage is around 12-14. I have not regeared. I have 3sp auto with the 4.0 and it drives ok but I'm sure if I had an overdrive I would not be able to use it.

The tires greatly depend on your use, some on here will bash all terrains, but the fact is if you do mostly street driving and the occasional wheeling trip, all terrains can work out great for you, especially a good set like bfg's.
As for gearing, that all depends on your set up (transmission, engine, current gearing, and axles)
Your gas mileage will also vary based on all the charactersitics mentioned above.
Most lift kits aren't to bad, just be patient and give yourself plenty of time.

the tire's depend on what you do with your jeep. If you mostly stay on the street the A/T is probally for you. If you wheel it the M/T would be my choice.
How difficult and long to install the lift depends on your wrenchin' skill and "TOOLS". Most "Bolt on lift kits" are not that hard just take your time.
As far as brake lines ...with 4 inches of lift it is recommended that you exstend your brake lines.
Gears depend on what you have in it now and if it is a 4 banger or 6 banger. But it is also recommended you have your gears changed.
GAS MILAGE??? what is that??? just kidding... you can probally expect around 12mpg
Give us a little more info on your jeep; motor/tranny, current gears, and what you plan to drive it in or on. It'll help us help you.

|Tazman2||i would go with mud tires. i think they have a little better grip than the ats. my brother always had good luck with his until he changed to m/ts baja claws.|

4" lift with BFG AT?
Kind of new to the forum. Well, Ive decided to get the 4" lift and am going to go with 33x12.50s. Id like the BFGs but which one? Mud or all terrain? Anybody with suggestions and pics?
Btw, for those of you who did the lift yourself, how difficult and long? Did you have to swap out brake lines? Gearing?
Also, I get about 14-16 mpg now, what can I expect after the lift?
I know, alot of questions for one thread, and this has probaly all been on here before, but Id figure Id pack it all in.
