Jerry Bransford Anything wider than 10.5" on factory wheels will rub its inside sidewall on the rear upper coil spring mounts. There is too much backspacing on factory wheels, 5.25" to 5.5", to run any tire wider than a 31x10.50.

You can only run bigger tires on aftermarket wheels because they don't come with as much backspacing. You need 4.5" or less backspacing to run wider tires.

TnDz TJ There are different width stock rims... some are 15x8 and some are 15x7.... The backspacing on these stock rims is VERY close to rubbing junk with just 10.50 wide tires. I have a rub mark with 2" BB and 31's

33's for a 4" lift is perfect.... now for tire size.... hmmm

33x10.50 on stockers

If you have a 15x7, you cannot go WIDER than a 10.50-11.50 tire... most tire shops won't even mount them.

The biggest issue is the backspacing on the stockers... they sit way inboard and mess with turning radius and clearance issues. You can adjust the turnlocks, but that only covers part of the issue

Im sure someone has more details to share.....

Wheel2Work You are as big as you can go with no modifications. 32's will fit, but you may experience some rubbing and need to adjust the steering stops.

wolfpack72 Oops sorry I missed the part about the lift 33's may work may rub a little depending on how much 4 wheelin you're doing

wolfpack72 I know 35 x12x15 will fit not sure about anything bigger than that. If you have the Dana 35 differential 35's can be hard on the axles. I'm running 33x10.5x15 and no problems

biggest sized tire on stock 15 rims?

I have a 2002 jeep wrangler apex edition and was wondering what the biggest tire size will fit on my stock 15 inch rims without any lifts. I currently have 31/10.5/15 and looking to get bigger without any lifts if possible.
