|JeepAddOns-Chris||That's what I thought they were, but couldn't tell for sure. I'll be running similar (BDS tuned ones) hopefully if I ever get time to get my junk back together.|

|JeepAddOns-Chris||That's a nice looking rig. Looks like you're running the Ford shock towers? That's what I'll be using. What shocks are you using?|

I'm running SOA w front shackle rev and custom Deaver leafs all around. My leafs are nearly flat in the front and totally flat in the rear. All in all, it rides surprisingly great for a leaf sprung rig and flexes great too. I'm running 35's right now but I'm gonna put 37's on it in the near future and leave it at the same height.
It's not super low but I wouldn't want it any lower or I'd be draggin all over the place.
At one point I considered messing around with frenching the leafs but I'm the end I figured I'd run it as is and my next phase will be linking it - but that's a ways down the road.

|JeepAddOns-Chris||Those in the picture are from Barnes 4WD and what I'll be using as my fixed mounts. You are thinking along the right lines.|

|crafty||Yeah, I want to be lower but my tranny upgrade kinda screwed me on that one.|

I was picturing you trying to cut the frame and work the shackle portion up higher.
I am at about 6 inches of suspension lift.

Please explain because this makes no sense to me. Moving the mounts up to get less lift is doing nothing to hurt flex.
And im thinking something along these lines.
I came from Full size rigs. I had barely arched springs with about 4in of lift out of them. 4.5 uptravel, and 11 down, limited.
People do an SOA with a 2 or so lift spring and they end up with 8in total lift? That seems unneccesary to me, and i think it it looks ugly as well.
SUA sucks bad for flex. I dont want to be going from rock to rock like a teeter totter because i have no travel.

I'm in the middle of a LOCG SOA build on my rig. Booms will be kept in the rear, but the front will be something completely different than what has been seen on this forum before. Details... I'm not letting the cat out of the bag just yet.
There's a dozen different ways to french the springs or bring them a little bit higher into the frame to lower the ride height. I won't be running true flat leaf springs. They will be arched lift springs because I don't want negative arch on my uptravel, but even in a SOA they should net the same amount of lift I currently have with a 4" SUA running boom shackles.
Stay tuned. A build thread will likely be started either this weekend or sometime next week.

|crafty||I you french the hangers into the frame you might be killing the flex that a SOA gets you and hurting the integrity of the frame. Might as well stay SUA.|

Low SOA rigs. (frenched hangars, low lift springs, etc)
Wanting to go with a SOA setup in the near future. Been looking for people that keep there rig low, and it looks like most go for a Stupid high setup. Not my style at all.
Im looking for low rigs still running leaves. Im thinking if i french the spring hangars into the frame, And run booms mounted up as well. Anyone fit that critera?
