I am guessing you got the factory tow package to get 4:10's. With your Automatic stay under 3" of lift...you will be replacing that driveshaft as eventually you will rip off your DS boot from it rubbing on your Transmission skidplate.
You can fit 35's easily with a 2" lift by running flat fenders or chop your stock fenders. However, if you are going to stick with stock fenders start looking at a 2.5-3" lifts. If you have plans on going with bumpers and winch...skip the Budget Boost and go right to a coil spring lift system like OME, Rock Crawler or Teraflex that should include coils, shocks, adj track bars, rear swaybar links and possibly Control arms to get your caster back. The stock springs don't handle extra weight very well.
4:10's should be bearable with the automatic...my suggestion is invest in a Superchips programmer to play around with your shift points, throttle delay response, power tunes as well set your tire size, remove TPMS and if you should re-gear it you can set the gearing ratio you install.
I would look at beefing up your swing gate or upgrade to a bumper/tire carrier to hold up a 35" tire as eventually you will start to pop the spot welds.

|warwickjeep||i drove my 08 jku with 35's and a 3.5 lift for almost a year with stock 3.73 .very bad on hills and with the whole family in the jeep just regeared to 4.88 much more power and fun to drive|

If you have a pre-2012 auto transmission that is not a Rubicon, then it's very likely you have 3.73 gears. Since it's a 2007, there's a slim chance you've got 4.10s. Are you sure it's 4.10s?
If so, that's good, though I still think you'll be pretty disappointed with the performance of a pre-2012 auto trans on 35s without a regear. But ultimately, that's a matter of taste and budget. Should be livable with modest commuting.
Speaking of budget though, talk of doing over 3" of lift with 35s with a tight budget and not spending any more money always makes me nervous. At that height and with those tires, you're starting to get into drive shaft issues, ball joint issues, potential deep desire for a regear, etc. You should be alright for a little while, but this is reasonably likely to lead to more expenses down the road. Just sayin'.

Or you can get a bumper that comes with a tire carrier...but those cost even more than the OR-FAB, above.
I should add...your goal of putting 35's on your Jeep with a 3"+ lift, without spending any more $$, are pretty unrealistic. You'd be much better off with 33" tires and a 2.5" lift (which will still give you the option of running 35's sometime down the road, should you choose to).
I'd advise you to look at some of the Jeeps here running that kinda combo. They look awesome.

Not sure exactly what overdrive is. You gotta understand, I don't really know much other than how to drive my Jeep, so thats why I'm coming to you guys.
Since regearing isnt really necessary, what could I buy that would help the longevity of my Jeep? I've read places where a new spare tire mount would help because the 35'' tire is too much weight?

You'll be OK with 4.10 gears, but
You will have to correct your speedo and you'll never be able to use you O/D--allways in 3rd gear on the hiways !!
If you stay in towns--your OK !

Someone is selling a used set of 35x17's local to me on CL for cheap.
Got me thinking "why don't people try them first before dropping $2k on new tires". ??
I will be going with 35's and I do still have plans on regearing come spring.

You're not ready to be ordering gears!!! But then I'm pretty sure you are asking about the order of the lift. If that's what you're asking about cancelling then I'd say you should be find with a 3.5" lift. But if you meant that you ordered gears, CANCEL. More research and more questions should definitely be asked before pulling the trigger on a set of gears. And for god's sake make sure you get someone to put those gears in for you. Someone that knows what they are doing. There's a process that needs to happen and I'm pretty sure by your questions that you're not ready for that.|

I ordered a Pro Comp 2.5'' lift kit but everyone kept telling me I would need a pitman arm, which cost an additional $100+. I then switched a 3.25'' RC lift, which comes with every thing. Their kit is not really that cheap, as I went with the "2007 - 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler 3.5'' Series II Suspension" which cost me over $500. This lift kit comes with a pitman arm.
As for the gears, I am not sure what I am running. I will find that out this morning and let you know.

Definitely find out what gears you have. Some 2007s came with 4.10s, and I'm not talking about Rubis. If you are one of those lucky few, the 35s will definitely be more liveable.
As for the lift, I'm assuming you are referring to the Rough Country 3.25"? Just some food for thought, but I still hear more bad than good about the RC lifts. Their springs just seem to sag over time much worse than any other manufacturer out there. I know their kit is cheap (something like $399 or so), but I am inclined to suggest that you go with a different manufacturer.

I have 4.10 gears with a 4in lift and 35s.
I did not re gear but I changed my drive shafts.
Drives fine to me but I bet it could drive alot better with some new gears.

Can you get away with not re-gearing? Sure, but it will put a lot of strain on the drivetrain and the Jeep will be a total dog. Realistically, you should be running at least 4.56s for your type of driving.
Front shaft may or may not need to be replaced, depends on lift. Up to 3.5, the stock front is generally okay, especially if you are just commuting on the street. Rear doesn't need to be replaced.

I should also add and im sorry this sliped my mind.. With over 3in of lift on a JKU your rear (front?) drive shaft will need to be replaced as it's not long enough to handle anything over the 3in of lift..
Sorry for not being completey sure on some things tonight for ya pacer.. 230am and im just tired.. Others later this morning I hope will see this thread and verify the axle gear ratio identification thing and which shaft needs to be replaced after 3in of lift
