|Triple88a||I tried to fit my stock shocks on after i installed my 4" lift kit (since rough country shocks suck) and they were about 1.5-2" short.|

with the stock shocks and that lift the axle should onle have 1-2" downtravel.
the ride on bumpy roady must be very bad.
get some N66/N67 OME shocks for 0-3" lift or N66L/N67L OME shocks for 4-5" lift.

I'd recomend ome shocks. Those things are lovely.
Search for "dpg offroad" and give them a call.. they will help you out.
However i have the feeling you have only a 2" lift. You cannot install the stock shocks on a 4" lift unless the springs are very saggy.

just buy some for a 4-6" lift...

Stock shocks on lift
OK i just got my jeep and noticed that the shocks on it are shorter than the springs to me they just look like the stock ones but i could be wrong. i was told it has a 4 or 5 inch lift on it and just wondering how big of a problem it is. I mean i know how to fix it but could it mess anything up and whats the easiest way to figure out what size lift i really have so i know what shocks to get.
