firemt04 Well so far do good. It is still good and tight. Usually by now it would already worked its way loose. But I think we may have fixed it. Thanks a lot again guys.

firemt04 I sure hope it does it has been driving me nuts.

GoldenSahara00 I will be surprised if it doesn't fix it.

firemt04 Ok so it put some blue locktite on the torx head screw and put a bolt and lock washer on the bottom where the bolt was missing. We'll see if that doesn't fix the problem. I won't be able to test it till tomorrow because I'm at work and won't get off till 800 in the AM.

NC10735285 don't know if you tired it yet - but what about using some thread locker or even some sealant on the threads and reinstall -

that would be a quick fix until you can get a longer bolt and use a lock washer or put a double nut on the other side of the thread.

Kevbz if everything has started to get "wollered out" locktite blue may help, Locktite red it only if you don't want to take it off without heat, and green will penetrate bolts already torqued if you dont want to undo them.

But yea, bottom bolt definitely.

neverfastenough1 Is it welded solid? That bolt that is missing is what keeps the bracket from pivoting on the torx bolt. The track bar is pulling and pushing on the top of the bracket. Without that bottom bolt it just pivots on the torx bolt causing it to loosen. Even with a lock washer you might keep it from loosening but it will still pivot and the rear will eventually shimmy like crazy going down the road. That is probably why the po tried to weld it.

firemt04 It is the bottom bolt getting loose not the one through the track bar it's self.
02-27-2012 07:29 PM
darkproximity id go replace it with a hex head bolt of the same size grade 8, look up online the recommended torque for that size bolt and then torque to that spec.
02-27-2012 07:22 PM
GoldenSahara00 If the bracket is welded it wouldn't need a bolt but yes there is one missing. That does look like some crap weld. And x2 which bolt gets loose? The one through the track bar? You really gota torque it.
02-27-2012 07:19 PM
firemt04 It's the bottom torx bolt.

darkproximity thats your trac bar relocation bracket.. is it the bottom or top bolt that keeps getting loose?

Need some help IDing a part.

Have had a real bad shake in my rear end of my 06 Unlimited. I finally found my problem. It was a loose bolt. I tightened it up and the shake went away. It wasn't long till it started back. To make a long story short I keep tightening the bot and it keep getting loose again with normal driving. I got under it today to see why it keep getting loose and I noticed the PO welded it (and a very poor job at that). I don't know what the bracket is called but it looks liked may be missing a bolt. Can somebody help me out here and let me know what I need to do. Do I need to replace it, get a new bolt? Thanks for all the help in advance.
