|BadOleRoss||You could always set your jacks stands on some sturdy blocks of wood to get a few extra inches. Probably not ideal but it has been done.|

I just did the RK 2.5 coil and shock lift. Used standard jack stands. It was a pita to do. Go with large jack stands if you can. Or a lift at all possible. And just be patient. Don't rush it. Here is a pic of mine completed.

thanks for all the input fellas.
I was thinking the 24" would be enough as the bottom of my frame in the rear is 15.5" from the ground right in front of the control arms so i assumed that the 24" plus after getting the tires and wheels off would give me plenty of room to work.

|daggo66||The 6 ton jackstands at Harbor Freight will do the trick. You can find them on sale for $25 a pair. They go under the frame, then you lower the axle with a floor jack.|

|Reedthis||After doing this same lift over the weekend I would check to see if you have a garage in your area that does hourly rentals. In salt lake they have a place called Wrench It and they rent a space with a lift for like $20 an hour. (my bro in law told me about this place as soon as I had everything unbolted from the rear axel. Bastard!). That being said the taller the better. We couldn't go tall enough so we need to use a spring compressor on all 4 corners. Good luck you will love the outcome.|

|sneck||there is kinda a science to this, although really it comes down to "buy the biggest one you can and hope its big enough". Really, go and find a jack point (on the frame right behind the control arm brackets is good). Now, you just need to know the total shock length, and subtract from that the current length (aka how much further down the shock can travel). Add that number, the height of your lift, and the height of the frame rail together. That +1 is generally how tall of a jack you need to easily install a lift.|

|kjeeper10||I just bought some that are 24" I believe. They extend a lot higher than what we used installing the lift. You really don't need that much but will give you more room to work.|

Jack stand height for installing lift?
I should have my lift kit this friday and am planning on putting it on this weekend. I am curious as to how tall i need my jack stands to be in order to have enought room to work with?
Lift is 2.5" teraflex coils with shock adapters. so it's not a huge lift
I am looking at these as my local auto parts store has some. they go up to 23.8"
I'm thinking that would give me enough room to lower the axles to get the the stock springs out. Also, will I need another set of jack stands to put under the axles?
This is my first lift install so any input would be appreciated.
