I just got my jeep about 3 weeks ago and can't wait to do some wheeling and getting it dirty. I've been in Grand Blanc about 7 years and don't know of the Mounds in this area. What are you talking about, that would be great to have something close? My previous 3 cars were all imports so I'm new to the 4x4 thing and can't wait to get into it.

Thanks,

GLFWDA? If I got there around Noon would I be too late?

stans1stjeep Thanks, I read some where that registration is required, is that thru the Cadilliac Jeepers? I couldn't find anything about registering on their website.

Rebel_Ryders_Offroad You could but it's 3 1/2 hours one way so you couldn't stay up there long unless you left super early in the morning

Rebel_Ryders_Offroad I live off noble road which comes off of lake George. There are a ton of nice scenic back roads out this way. Lake George dead ends north east of lapeer. It's a real nice road but gets a little narley when it snows. 4 wheel is never needed unless it snows. There's another route that come from 28 mile and goes down dequinder and leads through leneord then hits lake George. You can go about 100 miles down back roads out this way with all kinds of great scenery. Y'all wanna meet up sometime and take a drive that would be cool

stans1stjeep Dutton rd travels west off Orion rd, about 1 mile N of the Rochester rd, Orion rd intersection. Brewster rd is a right turn off Dutton. Silverbell is a right turn off Brewster. This stretch is about 3 miles and goes back to Orion rd. This is all, or mostly dirt and is mildly challenging if it's mud or snow. Turn let (north) on Orion to Lake George rd (a mile or so). Bear right on Lake George and go as far as you like/ have time. This is a country dirt rd and I haven't found the end yet. It goes up into Lapeer county, that as far as I have gone. To get back, turn right and go to Rochester rd. Turn right and follow it back to Rochester. Note: in Lakeville, Rochester rd makes a left turn off the main route.

liquiddeputy Stan, you gotta post the details (location, start/end, directions); I'm not too far away (SE Macomb Co.), and would love a good hilly ride with some required 4x4!

stans1stjeep Went for a drive in the dirt again today. Dutton Rd has a hill, the bicyclists call the wall. Half way up the traction control came on in 2wd, shifted to 4wd, no traction control necessary. Next on to Brewster Rd. This is a winding up and down hill dirt road past some very large homes. Turning right on Silver Bell and going on to another winding dirt road with many steep up and down hill sections. Finally on to Lake George Rd, going about 10 miles past horse and cattle farms, with more winding up and down hill sections. All in all a fun hour or so.

The family that jeeps together stays together :D

Awesome! I love my jeep and try to take it out daily if possible since my parents own 45 acres. Welcome to the jeep community! Dont forget to wave.

1st drive on the dirt

I had some time today, so my granddaughter and I took the jeep out. We went North on Lake George Road into Lapeer County. A good dirt road with S curves thru the woods. In portions it runs along a small ridge with 20-30' drop offs on both sides. As we got closer to Lapeer county there was more snow on the ground. The snow went from nothing in Rochester to about 2" on the ground. Nothing requiring 4wd, but a fun drive even so. Got lost in Lakeville. broke out the GPS and my Granddaughter navigated home.
