|Kevbz||I was going to but the can is to skinny to dip it in long ways and the threads would of been covered, and no way to hold onto it. With the spray I was able to mount it on a 6" bolt and spray all angles|

|Drock1979||I dont think anyone is knocking the stuff, but common sense tells me if you can peel it off its not a good permanent application. Just want to paint it once and be done. Took my hard top off today and gonna tackle it soon, I will post some pics once I get to it. Thanks for the input guys.|

I even kinda balked at the idea of doing the shifter since it is a high use item, but reading the can it said "Grip: Provided non-slip comfort and control" and "Durable: resists weather, chemicals, impact, and abrasion" I guess my hands aren't as baby like as I thought!

|blkrubi88||I painted the inside of my hardtop with Rustoleum satin black, and the only prep work I did, was clean it good and it's held up fine with no issues.|

|Kevbz||yea, litterly you can rub hard on plastidip and it will peel away, after that it will pull off in sheets if you pull right. maybe doing it alot thicker than what i did would work but bedliner hardens, plastidip stays soft and rubbery, only to thin and rubbery for me.|

|Kevbz||i've messed with plastidip a bit on some smaller parts, its a neat procedure but the stuff I did hasn't really stood the test of time. The problem I am coming across is as soon as one small part of it lets go, then it wants to continue to peel. Considering the prep needed to paint and/or plastidip, its kinda laborious to have to do monthly, semi annually etc. I think something a bit harder like undercoating or paint can be a better option in some situations.|

Plasti dip hardtop and some other stuff.
OK, I am planning to paint the interior of my hardtop when I remove it for the year. I have heard alot about plasti dip and its various uses, seems like great stuff. I am not however interested in having to redo the top every time it is removed and cant imagine the plasti dip holding up to the banging around a hard top goes through when removing. My other option is to use some trusty ol rustoleum bed liner or the like. My goal is to add a nice look but also sound deadening and a little insulation any thoughts or pics would be appreciated.
Second thought, has anyone repainted their hi lift? would bedliner work even with its rough texture? Think it would prevent rust better than most and look bad arse if it would not hinder the function. Again pics or input greatly appreciated.
