sknyfats I've seen that thread - thanks. It is in production. A guy named kenb1023 received some of it & showed pics. I also see it shown in my latest Quadratec catalog - and am pretty sure Quadratec wouldn't list it if they didn't carry it in stock I will post pics & what not when I get mine & install it

sknyfats I'm in the dealership waiting room while I have a seal replaced (soaked driver side floor in rain & car washes), and am flipping through Quadratec's catalog...I can get away with both front and rear Smittybuilt bumpers - with swing away carrier - for about $1500.
I'll consider the other options you both mentioned, but I'm thinking I may as well do'em both, and ensure I protect that trail gate. (the front I'm looking at also has mounts for the factory fogs too)

Thanks for chiming in!

Daniel_M The XRC MOD bumper is nice but I personally went RR XHD though, it is modular also but has the added bonus of fog light cut outs. your 33" should be fine on the stock carrier (I say should be), I would however think about a swing away carrier. My rear bumper is stock still and I have OR Fabs carrier which is independent of the bumper and is cheaper than the usual rear bumper/carrier combo. It holds up to a 37" tire and can be run with just about any rear bumper you want. As for your stock rear bumper "matching", IMO it will not but if you can tolerate it like I can than no worries.

I've got the 2 1/2 Procomp lift (springs & shocks), 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers on 16" black steel wheels (Procomp version of Cragar Soft 8's), Smittybuilt Side Armor guards, and I'm waiting for my Dyna Beads to arrive for a more optimal balance.
Yes, drive is a bit stiff, due to lift kit and tire choice, but I'm finding the sweet spot for tire pressure psi and I'm very happy with things.

Pics will come when I'm "done".

My last upgrade for now will be bumper(s) and winch. I really like the look/features of the Smittybuilt XRC M.O.D. front bumper.

Does anyone know if I "need" to get a rear bumper if I go with this front bumper? Will the rear stock match well enough? Why might I "want" a new rear bumper otherwise?

My spare 33" Nitto Trail Grappler fits fine on the stock carrier (with a spacer to stand it off a bit), but, should I get a swing away tire carrier instead with either the stock or a new bumper? I'm not sure if my gate should have that 33" on it forever...

Looking for thoughts and opinions.I have read many threads (and searched), but didn't find the answers I'm looking for.

Thanks guys & girls!
Other than the fact that your stock rear bumper is basically plastic, and won't stand up to much more than a stiff breeze, you don't NEED a new rear bumper.

I'm not sure how much your Nitto/steelies weigh, but that spare might be too heavy for your stock tire carrier. If that's the case you can go with a new rear bumper/tire carrier combo, or just a new tire carrier, such as the OR-FAB swing-away tire carrier.

Personally, it would drive me nuts to have a solid, beefy front bumper and still be rolling with the stock rear. But if you can deal with it, more power to you.
