jstone326 When I did my exhaust on my '05, I only noticed 1 cat... I think I would have noticed if there were 2 more. Get your build sheet from Jeep and see what is says... mine says "Federal Tier 2, Bin 9A Emissions" Maybe other people have a different emissions package... mine was purchase in NY

Emissions regulations get increasingly strick every year. As far as I know, 2000 was the last year you could get one cat, as a non-cali emissions package. All other 4.0L's after that will have 3 cats.

spy Chrysler build sheet would confirm, I have a california emissions jeep with 3cats and 4o2 sensors. I here ya on the o2's... I had 1 upstream replaced just too poor to afford the 3 others...

good luck, its really not that bad.

No wonder this thing only gets 15 mpg going down hill with a sail up and the engine turned off................it can't breath.
all 3 are required by law, since thats what was installed on your jeep.

the cats breath fine. if it gets 15mpg, then you have something else going on. keep up on maintenance, keep your foot off the throttle, drive like grandma, stay under 60mph, and keep it under 2500rpms whenever possible. I have all 3-cats, with over 85k miles on them, with 4.88s and 33s, and I can get 17-18mpg.
