|Triple88a||yeah i can understand that at night however during the day 0 db at 75 ft is nothing with the top off or even just windows open.|

|jpdocdave||when i was younger i had amps and subs in my jeep, and i blasted it with the top off. now that i'm older (27) i realize how annoying that is. i had a neighbor doing that after midnight and crap, it sucks. people shouldn't have to feel your music either, pounding bass from 75 ft away is pretty freakin loud. i also have two kids now, they go to sleep between 8 and 9. when i was younger that was the start of the day. you come down my street at 9:00 having a good time, you'll be waking up my kids, in my house.|

Our law for cellphones if for every one, not just underage kids. I dont think they've banned texting though which is even more dangerous than talking on the phone.

I believe oregon and washington's laws are about the same as that. except ours (or at least OR) is 100ft, I don't recall exactly what the price is but I think its around the same plus court fees. oh and the new law here in oregon about cell phones only applies to kids 18 and younger. they're not allowed to talk or text on their cell while driving (now that law is way overdue!)

|02Prove||Ahhhh governmental control...|
|03-20-2008 10:10 AM|
But hey, you live in chicago right? you have the best politicians money can buy, go rent one and get it set to whatever distance you want
|03-20-2008 10:05 AM|
|whiteyj||Long overdue. Don't want to hear someone else's choice in "music".|
|03-20-2008 09:57 AM|
|Dare2BSquare||Does that include the seismic activity? I know many times I can feel someone else's music before I actually hear it.|
|03-20-2008 08:36 AM|
I think you should be able to listen to your whatever you listen to as loud as you want.
...unless you're driving down my street at 2:45 in the morning.

|JCS05Rubi||Maryland is 50ft. They aren't going to give you any crap about it unless your being an obnoxious kid.|

I despise people who think it's ok to force other people to listen to their music.
|03-19-2008 11:49 PM|
with opened softtop at 30 mph you hear me talking to my passenger for a longer distance. will they arrest me because i talked too loud...?
here they have a new law that using a mobile phone isn´t allowed if you drive a car. that will cost 120$... but using a CB radio or PMR radio or a laptop is still allowed...
they find new ways every day to get our money...
|03-19-2008 11:34 PM|
btw Skeeter u dont listen to music in ur jeep?
|03-19-2008 11:33 PM|
|nicosuave||I see your point trip. But in the other hand, it is so annoying to have to listen to loud thumping music while sitting in your own house or at work when your trying to consentrate. I like it here where I live, the cops usually don't ticket unless its at night or outrageously loud.|
|03-19-2008 11:27 PM|
bout damn time.
|03-19-2008 10:45 PM|
|Triple88a||well yes but the 75ft at 0db is just outrageous. Not just that, now they even tow ur junk|
|03-19-2008 10:42 PM|
They have been giving loud music tickets out all over the place for awhile now.
|03-19-2008 10:35 PM|
chicago loud music tickets... new tougher law
well we have a new law here.. in my opinion just another government ripoff trying to legally steal peoples money
Basically if you can hear music from 75 ft, they can give you 250 bucks ticket and tow your vehicle. What do you think of it? Before you talk, take off ur top and doors and turn the music up just enough so you can hear it with the wind noise at 30mph and then go 75 ft away and see if you can hear it.
