Porkrind Personal preference and to me that's all it is. If someone likes black good I'm happy for them if they like chrome good I'm also happy for them. I don't care and don't judge a person based on how they like their Jeep to look because that's the beauty of Jeep's. They are supposed to be personalized and not just run of the mill.

The Real Tink My previous TJ was red and black and looked damned good.

now it is being replaced with a green (1997 MOSS green) and it will be done the same way, only for accent I will use body color. Like for the dish part of the wheels, centercaps, d-rings, and the like.

I like polished aluminum and diamond plate, gives a nice contrast as long as it's done in moderation. Mine isn't babied either and the polished holds up well

knapp001 black all the way...chrome takes way too much effort to shine

lys327 BLACKED OUT!!! but that's my opinion. Big in the military and a veteran of 16 yrs. so I love the black.

And it's funny seeing people get so worked up over chrome on a Jeep!

Tim Stines I like both black and chrome, so I have both on my jeep more black then chrome but I like the chrome taillight guards and matching headlight guards also have chrome grill inserts but that's it the rest is black except for my aluminum wheels, but my friends pitched in I guess and went together last year and bought me the chrome that's on it so it was a free gift

Totally agree, but I would think most of the people in this forum are more concerned with off road ability then shiny things. And that was the group of people I was talking to. If a young girl or somebody like that started talking to me about the chrome stuff she wants to get I wouldn't give her the "chrome don't get ya home" crap, I'd give her a thumbs up. I knew my audience, or at least I thought I did. And plus, its not like I made that line up, its like a well known old as dirt saying, why are we over analyzing it? Its like if I said "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and some joker came at me and said "well, actually eating right, exercising, and making smart decisions keeps the doctor away." Just a saying dudes, relax.

Dude, youre missing the point. Lets say there is a hypothetical jeep driver, his name is Jafar. Jafar got himself a new Jeep cause he hears offroading is the biz, so now he visits his handy quadratec.com to look for stuff for his new Jeep. He finds "awesome" chrome tube bumpers, a chrome grille, shiny mirror covers and hood hinges, the dollars keep adding up but the chrome is so pretty he just can't help himself. Oooor, he can forget all that crap and lock up the rear end for the same price, ya know what i'm saying. Chrome dont get ya home. That was my point.

Majnoon I want stainless door handles for my 2000 factory full doors. The OEM ones rub and rust no point in painting it will rub off. I can't find them anywhere. Anyone have them?

I think it has run it's course. I am sick of the black, black, black. And I have a black Jeep with no chrome. I plan to get some, maybe the Mopar chrome grill and polished aluminum wheels too for just a touch to brighten up all the dreary black, black, black.

99JeepNut I am slowly remove all the chrome the PO put on my black TJ. Basically all I have left are the hood hinges and vent grill. I can't decide to paint them or buy new automotive painted ones.

Has anyone seen the black chrome hinges? Do they count as "chrome?"

johanana I dont have tooooooo much but i love the look it gives, its such a nice pop with the yelow, front and rear bumper, mirrors and soon to be door handles

Decoy_58 I am slowly blacking mine out

tamupatriot I'm not sure I understand the Chrome hate. I've seen Chris Rock's CB4, and while that jeep looks ridiculous, that's no reason to hate all chrome on all Jeeps.

Here is Chrome done wrong:

But here it is done right:

I mean, sure, the second one is mine so I'm completely biased but so is, well, everyone else. I thought the number 1 rule of the Jeep community is that there's no insulting anyone else's rig. Which is why I will never do that. Unless you drive this:

Then there's no helping you.
