|eagle223||BFG ATs are decent in mud, they do fill up with mud quickly and turn into slicks. I would go with more of a mud terrain tire. 4x4 garage has a magazine out right now that they've tested many different tires so it can give you a pretty good idea of performance in mud. I've heard good things about the MT/R and BFG KM2s and the Duratracs. And those all get pretty good tread life.|

|Blue_94_YJ||I had Maxxis Buckshots on my Yukon, and they were good all around. I got just over 40k on them and that was on a Yukon that weighs almost 3 times as much as a jeep at 4700 lbs. For the money you can't really go wrong with them.|

|gregward93||BFGS km2's. Have 30,000 on them and could go for 10-15 thousand more.|

Thanks. Do you have any pics of them here on the Forum?
Kinda leaning towards the Cooper SST's too. So confused!!

I have the Dick cepek mudCountrys,a lil milder than an all terrain but calmer than a full mud tire,Quiet on highway.Awesome road manners and really hook up in soft south louisiana mud.For the low price im very impressed and i plan on buying another set when these need replacing.I have about 3k miles on them with zero signs of wear and I mud and trail ride alot,3-5 times a week on my own property. No rocks, just logs and mud holes.
the guy that convinced me to buy these tires had over 40k miles on his and they were almost 1/2 worn
great tire,I choose them over the BFG KM2s

|4fit||Kelly Safari TSR is basically a Duratrac and can generally be found cheaper. Goodyear is the parent corporation behind Kelly Tire.|

40k and 50k is a great range that's what I'm looking for
And no i haven't looked at all at copper tires

Not good for rock crawling, though, because of the sidewalls.

I was told - for mud-tire (any brand) about 30K is about it. / From this forum, I was told GY duratracs are awesome on and off road.. I am still searching for a nicer wheel and will end up with either GY duratracs or Dick Cepek Fun Country II tires.. ( 33x11.5x17 )

|4fit||Have you considered Duratracs? They are more of a AT/MT hybrid than just an AT and they get great reviews, even in mud. Plus, you can sign up for treadlightly.org ($25) and get a $100 mail in rebate on them.|

Thoughts on best mud tire for on and off road
More of a weekend warrior
(alot of road driving)
MT MTZ's: Milage? Performance?
GY MTR's: Milage? Performance?
Interco TrXus: Milage? Performance?
Or go cheap
BFG all-terrain's: Milage? Performance?
Those are basically what I'm wanting
