The 3.8 ain't a powerhouse. Your Jeep is a very light vehicle. I'd look at tire/wheel weight very closely. I'm running Toyos & looking to shave weight. Nittos are extremely heavy too. They are actually designed for full sized trucks with powerful, heavy motors & payloads. I will go class C tires from now on. I think I could tear out a valve stem on these E rated Toyos & make it back to camp w/o the tire even coming off the rim.
For off roading, ride comfort, handling, wear & tear on steering components & drive train & airing down, a C rated tire would function much better. I'm learning all of this first hand, the hard (expensive) way, lol.

|DaveatNNS||As I said, I bought 5 wheels (Waiting for them to come in from Quadratec) and am thinking Bridgestone TKOs now. (Although I really liked the Nitto Trail Grapplers). RedBones, you are right about the spare on the back, and even with the cover on everyone would still know I had the factory rim on back. Appreciate all of the help on the wheels. Looking at the Nittos and TKOs and would love advice on the tires as well.|

|DaveatNNS||Really appreciate the info, I am buying five. I have a Detonator Yellow Sahara, I am getting the black Pintlers (When they come in). My next appearance move is to paint the bumpers all back or replace them with black ones. I like the KM2s I want a tire that isnt too noisy but I will occasionally go off road. Would you recommend the KM2s?|

Yea, buy five that is one of my biggest pet peeve.
Driving down the road and you see a nice jeep with bigger tires and as you pass you look back and see this small spare tire.

As far as a spare. Ya, the cheapest way is to cover up your oem spare & use it. But, if you end up going taller than oem, then youl'd be better off getting 5 new ones and rotate it in.

Can't say a whole lot about the Pintlers other than to say they are a sweet looking wheel. I'd recommend buying 5. To echo what kbwwolf said, you need the spare to get you home! But also, you're spending a lot of money on great looking rims, why not show them off? I love having my bada$$ spare staring at people in traffic b/c ,IMO, it looks fantastic!

|SylvanSahara||you can ask whatever you want for them i think most move from $350(four wheels no rubber good condition)......$500-850ish for five w/ good rubber the guys asking $1,000+ might get that money but IMHO they are going to wait a very long time to get that and talk to a lot people before they do.|

|SylvanSahara||the price you get will depend on condition of the wheels, how much rubber is left on the tires and more than anything how many sets are on the market when your ready to sell i have seen sets w/ tires range from $350......to.....$1,200(brand new takes offs set of 5 full as delivered rubber). i was going to buy another set for winter snow tires this year...glad i didnt spend the money. And could have pulled the trigger on a set of 5 wheels w/ rubber(more than 50% remaining) and could have had them for $400-450.|

Buy the spare. Last I checked, a wheel cover won't get you home if you throw a bead on the trail or run over a nail on the highway.

New Wheels on My '11 Sahara
I am close to buying the AEV Pintler Wheels through Quadratec. Curious about a three things. One, what should I expect to get for my 18" Wheels that came with the Sahara? Two, should I spend the $210.00 for the spare, or just buy a wheel cover? The final one relates to tires, and I did not search this as well, but on a stock sahara how big of a tire can I get away with without any rub? I was thinking 285/70 s.
