Zombiekiller Alright I'm pulling it apart today! I'll let you know how it goes

Zombiekiller Okay, I will pull it apart as soon as I get it cleaned up. I'm just happy it's a common problem and not something in the diff for certain

jr78racer if your vacuum lines and actuator check out pull your actuator housing and check that the sleeve slides and that the shift fork isn't broken. mine was broke when i got it. its a common part, cherokees and grand cherokees have the same actuator so finding one should be pretty easy

Zombiekiller oh okay, i will wash the jeep off Wednesday, and i can look into this stuff then!

Xpress Either one of your vacuum actuator vacuum lines are broken or your vacuum actuator itself is busted. The best option would be to go with a Posi-Lock cable (there's no sense in ditching your stock Dana 30 axle, it's MUCH stronger than the rear axle), but the least expensive would be to buy some vacuum tubing and splice up the vacuum tubing that's there. And if your vacuum actuator is busted, then you can find one for cheap on eBay since a lot of people get rid of them.
