MikeV No deposit required and I'm still driving the car I'm going to trade in. I ordered a soft top manual tranny Rubicon. Hopefully it's here within the next month.

GonzoBobH Gecko JKU, $500 in an un-cashed check they hold.

MPScan While some dealers have set policies and set amounts they charge... at the end of the day, the amount of any deposit necessary will always correlate to the ability of the dealer to get rid of the vehicle should you back out. They simply don't want to be stuck with a vehicle that has unpopular options in a rare color a month before the next model year starts production.

Feta2006 My dealer asked for $500 refundable, regardless of what color or options. I have a Crusk JK just finish production inspection!

Raz65 $1000 seems to be standard around here.

rs87277 I had to put 1k down to hold my Jeep

NFRs2000NYC It depends what you order. If you get a black on black sahara, the dealer may be comfortable with $500. I ordered a Crush orange JKU loaded to the gills, so the dealer wanted $3000.

pdubois64 Most of the a$$ clown dealerships where I live want a deposit to even talk about buying, I laugh, but it seems to be a standard practice.

I would however put $1k down if I was ordering no problem.

dreg My dealer pretty much said I could put down whatever I wanted, up to $2000.00.

GeckoJK The amount depends on the dealer. A couple years ago, my wife ordered a Dodge Journey and had to do a $500 deposit. I had to do $1,000 deposit on my JK cause it was a half door model They didn't feel he could sell if I backed out.

Comac90 I dont know a standard, but I put down $0.

Up Hill Bill I put down $1,000 refundable. Dealer only asked for $500. I wanted dealer obliged to sell me the Jeep.

SilverSport Whether or not a deposit is required is up to the individual dealer. Like you found out, some want a deposit, some don't.

Deposit $$ for a Factory Order?

Is there a standard deposit amount when placing a factory order. I spoke to three dealerships and each told me something different.

1. $500

2. $1000

$ Zero!

Any guidance on what is standard?
