eyeball The seat is great. It addressed what I perceived as a safety issue for my kids. I just wish I would have chosen the vinyl one rather than cloth. It would be a lot easier to clean.

It's a minor issue but I had to replace the seat belt anchor (new one included with seat) when installing the seat in my 1997 TJ. They just don't lay quite right anymore. They are safe and secure just kinda funky way they lay...

Jeep_ODST Aside from the trunk issue, whats your impression of the trailmax rear seat?

eyeball I had the exact same scenario... I was looking for asfer seating for my kids and already had an instatrunk.

I ended up scrapping the instratrunk.

I hope you fare better...

coley No. I haven't, but it's worth a shot.

Kyle03Sport I am not familiar with the seat you mentioned, but I took out my stock back seat and instatrunk and then tried to put them both back in and found it more frustrating than I thought it was going to be.

Have you tried taking out the instatrunk, putting the rear seat in and folding it forward, reinstalling the instatrunk and then folding the seat back to the normal position?

That might be the dumbest question that you've ever heard, and that might not even be the issue you're having. But hey - a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

coley Yeah, I sent them a message about it already. I've had the trunk installed for about a month now, so returning it, I guess, is not an option. I was hoping maybe someone ran across this before. If not… I'll be sure to post reviews on Amazon and other places so I can save someone else the trouble.

Unless I'm doing something wrong…..

TJWenatchee I would get a hold of Bestop and see if they have any ideas or if something can be worked out.

Bestop TrailMax II F&T and Instatrunk?

It would seem that these two are not compatible unless I'm doing something wrong. I had the Instatrunk installed, then added TrailMax™ II Fold & Tumble Rear seat because I wanted the head rests for my daughter's safety.

You would think since they are both made by Bestop it would work. At least I did…. and I can't find anywhere that says it doesn't. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I like the trunk…. guess I'm out the $150.
