Tmstar05 So I checked my fuel pump pressure it showed 39.5 lbs. but then they told me something about my return Line being bad... I have no clue

ktot I have had the Same exact problem. Fuel pump died last Sunday so I replaced it for the second time in a year. But still once a week my engine light comes on and says cyl 1 misfire. Than it turns off. I'm stumped.

blue6tj I had a fuel pump that acted up on me, then it worked fine, then 6 months it just died one day... I'd replace...

Phoenix I had something similar happen to my Jeep. It would work until the Temp got to 150 then it would die. I would check the Camshaft Position Sensor, that's why my kept abruptly dieing.

Tmstar05 It happen today I was doing 45 n boom just turned right off took about 35 seconds to start after I completely stopped. I went to my local parts store to check my engine lite n they told me the code said miss fire check cylinder 1... So I have no idea ugh! I just put new spark plugs, msd wires, msd coil, copper battery post n an additive. But none of that apparently fixed the problem.

RockHound Sounds like the fuel pump, I was having similar problems awhile back. Especially when you are running your tank low on gas, the pump starts to heat up and malfunctions. Get a fuel pressure gage, that will tell you if it is the pump. I have a 99 and was told if the pressure dropped below 45 lbs fuel will not deliver to the engine. When it would die and I checked it my pressure was in the mid 30’s. I replaced the pump, pressure was back to normal and good to go

Zinger A fuel delivery problem (pump, regulator, filter) usually display themselves with a degrade or progressive loss in power. An abrupt loss (and restore) of power leads me to believe ignition issue. Could be something as simple as the distributor ignition pickup.

Kevbz I've usually only had once then done luck, but it could be intermittent . I am just following the old fuel, air, spark theory...and sputtering usually mean's not enough fuel

and usually with spark issues you will throw a code if that's betting hooky

SinfulDragon all the way up until they stop working for good (In my experience this is right after you FILL the tank, I'm always so lucky).

There is no timeline, some get lucky and go for a long time, others if it starts back up once, they are considered lucky, often, once it stops that first time, its done.

It just dies like if it ran out of gas. I was think the same but wouldn't the fuel pump completely just give out? And not work ever again...

Jeep turning off

I was driving in the parking lot taking off in first gear and suddenly my jeep turned off. It took about 45 seconds to start back on. The following day it did the same thing seemed as if I was empty but I have bout 1/4 tank. Anyone know what the cause of this is?
