|Kate||If I remember correctly, the Federal emissions warranty on the CATs is 7/75. Seven years or 75,000 miles, whichever comes first.|

|jp2611||Have had this issue 3 times (my fault TJs don't need premium fuel) anyway I replaced with a "high flow" weld in Cat as was suggested. My brand is flowmaster. And to quote the mechanic, "that woke the ole' girl up"!|

|Green Bay TJ||My 2000 TJ needed new cat last year. cost me $1600. OEM support was no longer available, Jeep sold in Maryland was under CARC emissions, so they ended up going with a 3rd party out of CA to get the cat + 2 mini cats. Hope yours costs less.|

|DuruConsigliere||Just be aware that by putting it off you may cause other issues. Last time I had this problem a machanic told me that it could possibly mess up the valves. I've never experianced this myself as I had the money to fix it right away, but just to pass the info on to you. Something to do with the backpressure change in the exhaust system. Anyway, be aware that it could be a issue ok..|

X2 on the guess being it's probably the cat. They can get so clogged/plugged up that the engine's exhaust gasses just can't make it out which is what causes the engine to bog down.
Nearly any muffler shop can do a quick pressure test on the cat to see if it is clogged or not.

|hambubba||Been there, done that, on the highway, lol. Have a muffler shop check it out, basic WELD-IN replacement is fairly cheap. I haven't done anything at a shop in ages, I think mine was a little less than $200. But that was 10 years ago, lol.|

|DuruConsigliere||Agree with hambubba. When you get out of your jeep after running the highway put your ear down low and listen to it. If it sounds kind of like popcorn popping chances are the cone inside has cracked and might be clogging the exhaust.|

Can't go past 60 mph....?
I have an auto 04 rubi that seemed to work fine until recently, when I took it on the highway.
For some reason that I can't figure out, I can't go past 60 mph. I press the gas but my rpm's don't increase. They only increase when I press it down to the floor, in which case the rpm's jump up really high.
I'm guessing it's an issue with my transmission? At lower speeds it works perfectly fine.
Any help would be appreciated!
