stevil My wife bought me the 11000 for fathers day. I'm waiting on the maximus 3 mount and I'll be installing soonest.

jeffashford I did purchase the Q11K and have used on 4 different occasions, 2 hard technical pulls and others were more normal. Failed me the first use. Way below Zero, gear oil was super thick spool and lever was not wanting to stay in gear) the other vehicle was sitting on top of a pile of trees impinging the transmission that the wrecker had to be used with some interesting tactics, I consider the other guy lucky I did not pull straight out if I could or major damage to the undercarriage. Since fall/summer is herethe winch seems to be working just fine. Prior to purchase, I could not find any real world review myself so took a chance relying on QT's reputation of customer service.

I like to looks of the "i" series models better with the fixed solenoid and also the black color.

I'd buy this again in a heartbeat as for the price it can't be beat with the lifetime mechanical warranty.

Here is a crappy cell phone picture.
Looks real good

They still offering it for $300 w/ free shipping?

How was the install? does it just run straight to the batter and that's it? did you get any front end sag from the weight?

chris t I placed an order and received my winch this week. Thanks to Joe for his assistance in getting my order shipped for free for a forum member. I unboxed the winch and found that the hardware to mount the Roller Fairlead and the Winch was missing. I called Quadratec and they were very helpful. They shipped the order same day. My issue is that they shipped the missing hardware via UPS ground, not overnight. I don't have time during the week to spend installing the winch, so it will now have to wait until the next weekend.

I understand that things go missing on occasion. I understand that factories miss hardware packets when they are packing the winch. That happens, but to take the cheap way out of shipping the missing hardware is inexcusable.

That said, the winch looks top notch. Everything so far looks fantastic. I'm really happy with my purchase other than crappy shipping for replacement bolts. I will end up going out and picking up my own hardware and forgetting the factory hardware, but this is the kind of simple things that drive people nuts and make the difference between plain customer service and great customer service. They skimped out on $$$ for shipping and have potentially lost a continued customer.
Thanks
Ct..

kenjiyukawa This past Friday I received my Quadratec Q9000 winch and Drake Billet inserts from Quadratec (Thanks Joe!!) and spent the day installing.

First of all, I chose the quadratec brand winch over other winches mostly because my use is pretty limited. I am able to make it out the off road park about once a month or 2 and being that I am in Texas, most days are pretty dry, so I won't be pulling my selves out of a mud pit as often as others. Other entry level winches in the same price range just don't seem to match up spec for spec, and though I haven't seen a ton of rave reviews for the Q-tec winch, I haven't seen much negative yet.

All of the product showed up on time and good condition. I was quite happy with overall appearance/quality of the winch. It is very heavy and seems to be made with solid components.

I decided on the Drake billet inserts for the grille based on lots of research, and deciding that spending almost $200 for other options that weren't the cheap "home depot" mesh grille insert, i felt this was the best bang for my buck.

Thanks to the wranglerforum.com i was able to get advice on removal of the front grill, which only took minutes.

I have a Smittybilt XRC front bumper so there was already a spot set up for the winch. For the most part, the winch was pretty easy to install. The 2 main issues i had, were 1) access to the mounting bolts, and 2) the length of the battery leads from the winch.

I was able to get all 4 bolts in and tightened down, however there is such a small amount of room for you to get a normal wrench in, I am going to have to take it to a shop that has a long enough extention for a socket, as well as something that gives a bit of an angle, to get them torqued all the way down.

The battery leads don't leave much room to play with. They mention this in the instructions, but I just don't see why a few extra inches wouldn't hurt so that you could keep all the lines tucked up again the body all the way to the battery.

I actually had much more difficulty with the Drake inserts. Once in, THEY LOOK GREAT!, however the low quality on the hardware means its REALLY REALLY easy to strip out the allen heads...

This meant i spent much of my time trying to vice grip the other side of the bolt to try and tighten them down. This also meant I managed a little bit of damage and had to re paint (spray paint) in a few spots... luckily i chose black which made it easy to cover up...

My plan is test the winch out on the trails later this month, at which point I will return with an update.

All in all, I was very happy with the winch. Operation is smooth and appearance is top class!

P.S. Yes i know I bought a smittybilt winch cover... but there isn't a q-tec brand avail yet, and I managed to buy this one off a fellow jeep buddy for 10 bucks... serves its purpose.

glap1922 Dang I would have been much more likely to buy one had I known there would be a discount/giftcard/blemish! Oh well, congrats on the deal, let us know how they work in real life situations if necessary!

Mine should be here tomorrow - same deal. I will throw some install pix up here once I have it done. I hope the blemishes on my winch are as small as yours sound like they are.

sknyfats My Q9000 arrived last week. I received a price discount ($269) and will be getting a $25 gift card because the batch Quadratec received had "blemishes" due to shipping. I barely notice any on mine.

Mounted it to my Smittybilt XRC MOD bumper - middle section only (sides and bull bar still on back order) - and installed them both today on to my 2012 JK 2 door.

We started around 1:30pm - finished install around 7:30. This included trips to hardware store for tools I needed. We took our time and are rookies at working on Jeeps (me and my brother).

Biggest obstacle was that the winch was too long to clear the frame mount for the bumper on the passenger side. Had to use a saws all and cut about a half inch chunk off that mounting plate section, at the corner, for the bumper to mount with the winch on it.

Other minor issue is that Smittybilt included a vacuum canister relocation kit for 2012 JK's. Funny thing - noticed after I removed the canister and cut the bracket - that it didn't appear to really need to be moved at all!!! Also - even if I did need to do the relocation - I would've needed to do it BEFORE I mounted the winch, as the relocation bracket provided goes between the winch and bumper mount...so we just rigged our own bracket instead.

All holes lined up otherwise for both winch and bumper. Also - I did a top mount for the solenoid as I intend to install a bull bar.

Tested it out by pulling my JK up my drive - success

Will post more info / pics after I get rear bumper, tire carrier, and the ends/bull bar (when those two parts arrive...) - and after I've beaten things up a bit

Matador Just make sure to test everything as soon as you get it. They had a bunch damaged during shipping from China.
