|03-08-2012 10:12 AM|

Just make sure whoever you have do it is a certified welder and you'll be OK. Steering components aren't something you want just any shade-tree mechanic doing. I think I'd take it to a few body shops and get estimates. Do you have insurance? This may be one you want to report and have done above board.
And, glad you and yours are OK. Scarey!

|Sueby||Yikes! Thats scary. Glad everyone's ok.|
|03-07-2012 09:44 PM|
|SilverBolt||I wouldn't have a dealer do it. Find a good local offroad shop.|
|03-07-2012 09:42 PM|
Any shop should be able to weld for you.
I think you can buy new/stronger brackets.
Positive on TB's not sure CA's
And glad you are ok
|03-07-2012 09:30 PM|
|c0d3x5||anyone got an idea?|
|03-07-2012 09:21 PM|
|c0d3x5||i am thinking about it.. i might just go ahead and get all adjustables, replace my shock, but i really need someone to weld the bracket on it.. my welder wont do it very well..|
|03-07-2012 09:18 PM|
|wanderlust||good excuse to go long arm?|
|03-07-2012 09:15 PM|
yeah would have been very bad...
i wonder if a 4x4 shop can take care of it..
|03-07-2012 09:12 PM|
Glad everyone is OK for sure. Glad that didn't happen to you flying down I-26 at 70 MPH
|03-07-2012 09:09 PM|

|03-07-2012 09:07 PM|
|Casotakar1229||dang, at least you're okay!|
|03-07-2012 09:06 PM|
Aww that sucks...no warranty love on that one.
I would find a reputable welder and have them do it. Cheaper then filing insurance claim I would imagine.

a giant fence and shrub?
honestly.. i passed out at the wheel ( for unknown reasons doctors looking into it)
but i was in my neighborhood headed home from dinner with my girl, and i passed out, ended up hitting a mail box, dodging a house, and a giant pine tree, running over a pompas plant and destroying someones fence
i guess i was really wanting to take off roading to the next level..
|03-07-2012 08:58 PM|
|OH9JK||How did this happen??|
|03-07-2012 08:55 PM|
|c0d3x5||i know how to weld.. but i dont think my welder will be good enough to weld on the bracket to the axel|
|03-07-2012 08:54 PM|
Know how to weld? Lol
Oh... Video or it didn't happen
|03-07-2012 08:52 PM|
who should i take my broken jeep to?
So my front passenger side of my bran new jeep is all messed up
lower control arm bracket broke
upper control arm pushed back
shock messed up
so far thats all i see..
would the dealer handle this, or would i need to take it somewhere else?
