IndianaJones Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I spent the night sanding dirt and surface rust of the underside. Just picked up some roll cage pads at the local 4 wheel parts. Next I will be looking to pick up a bikini top and will be spraying the frame with some primer and undercoating.

I have been looking for a Wrangler for over six months now. I had planned on spending my tax check on a Jeep and handing the keys to my current AWD to my son who just turned 16. It turned out that my tax refund was not as big as I had planned on. I ended up with just about $3k to spend on a Wrangler. Well, $3k will not buy a decent Wrangler...at least not here in Indianapolis. I spent a lot of time searching CL but could not seem to land anything worth owning in my price range. Last week I stumbled on a 2002 VW Passat and the owner had listed it for $2k. I was there in record time and the Passat was VERY nice. All it needed was a detail and it was good to go. I managed to trade the Passat for a decent 1995 YJ. 4 cyl. 5 speed lifted 4 inches and sitting on some middle aged 33's. I have already replaced the muffler and swapped the seats with a set out of a 1999 Grand Prix GT.

I did my fair share of research while shopping for a Wrangler. It seemed like every time I googled something about Wranglers I ended up here....reading old threads. There is an e-ton of information here and I am happy to finally be a card carring member.

Here are a few pics of the new (to me) TJ. Including some pics of the new seats.
