Peepers I know my TJ is either a flat tow, or a full trailer/flat bed. you might have to pull the drive shaft if you just use a dolly.

xj-boonie I've got a hard top (and a soft top that's yet to be installed). U-Haul's web-site did let me select the auto transport trailer with my JKUR as tow vehicle and XJ as vehicle being towed.

That said, I think using a tow dolly would be closer to the tow rating but not sure about using one for 1000 miles.

XJ Knight Uhaul won't let you do it.. As if you take their auto transport and add it's weight to the XJ's weight it is more then the JKUR is rated to tow. If I remember correctly XJ's are around 3200lbs dry weight.. The JKUR is only rated to tow 3500lbs.. Someone correct me if that changed for the 2012's..

JK towing another Jeep?

Question- I've got a 2012 JKU Rubicon with manual transmission and factory hitch, no mods. I'm moving and need to move it and my 1996 Cherokee Sport 4x4 from Florida to Maryland, about 1000 miles. I was thinking about renting a U-haul auto-transport trailer. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike
