Sweet lookin' build.
Reminds me of my '76.

The 360 i had in it was one out of a lower mileage j-10 plow truck. Just tossed in a performer cam and timing set and had Nick Alfano build a set of street ported bridge over heads to put on it along with a offy intake and 650 carb.
Now building a fresh .040 over 360 with a summit 8601 cam and using the same heads with stronger springs and bolt on roller rockers for bridge over heads.

My 76 CJ-5 project
Ive had this jeep since i was 16. I am now 25 and the second and final restoration is getting close. I traded a 83 J-10 for it when i originally got it. It was mint green with a 258, t-18, and dana 20. I fixed some rust holes in the body and floors, put a 4" lift and 35"s on it and daily drove it when my AMC eagle's motor dropped a cylinder. A year later or so i finished the body work and had my dad paint it. It looked good on the outside. Another year or so i swapped a 360 out of a 78 golden eagle into it. It turned into a weekend cruiser/ mud toy. The mud and driving took its toll ont the body and rotted her out pretty good. A while back i aquired another CJ-5 project from somebody with a brand new steel aftermarket body. Since then, i tore them both down to make my original one have the best parts. I am now building a fresh and healthy 360 and waiting for the final body parts to be done at the body shop.
The pics can explain some.
Shortly after i did the v8 swap. Looking pretty.
After tearing up some mud bogs that the chevys and fords couldnt get through..... .... and i was about 19 and skinnier.
Towed it up north and used it as an off roader.
Shortly before i tore her all apart. Body was pretty rough. Most of the body mounts were rotted away and the body was sitting on the frame with gravity.
The jeep i bought with a brand new Omix Ada body on it. Unfinished.
Was originally a cj-7 frame that rotted in the middle and someone shortened for a cj-5. It wasnt right....
Had the new body stripped, did the body work and primered, then had the inside of it rhino lined along with the tailgate.
Then i had it painted with jeep electric lime green.
Assembly should be within the next few weeks. I'll be taking pics as i go!
