what needs replacing

If the bearing when out, does the entire axle/housing need to be changed. Would seem just to replace the bearing.

Jeeprich25 X2. Canadian models did. Super hard to find. Wagoneer would be a good one. Xjs will need rewelding perches and shock mounts. I think length is different. Might need spacers. Want to dbl check that though.

Nubby55 Some in Canada had 44s, I think a Cherokee will fit.

shoepick Im pretty sure that YJs did not come with a dana 44 from the factory, I might be wrong but if it has a dana 44 one of the po's put it in. The factory dana 35 has c clips and the axle shaft wouldn't come out unless the c clip broke. Like I said not 100% sure, mabe someone else will chime in.

New to site, looking for help

Hi all, I just purchased a 1995 Wrangler. Have owned it a week and the driver's side rear axle bearing went out, allowing the whole axle to come out. It is a Dana 44. I am having a very hard time finding one. Any ideas. I did find one pre-loaded with bearing for $279.00 shipped to my door. Or a complete Dana 44 rear axle assembly for $400.00 with 30 miles of me. What other Jeep's used the same Dana 44 Axle? Thanks for any help......
