|Pghrubi||Since I hit a deer this week ( thank God for Jeeps HARD plastic bumper!) and got a little crack in the bumper with some deer hair in it and lost a fog light...I decided to treat myself to the olympic 4x4 cobra bumper with bull bar and winch. It's not here yet but I like the looks of it from online pics. Anyone know how hard it is to take off the stock front bumper?|

Truck-Lites installed. Took us 45 minutes total. We did the conversion harnesses inside the house because they are so dang tight. Then I had a short issue getting the passenger side turn signal light back into its housing. No idea why. I ended up removing the bulb, installing it alone and then plugging it in. No problems at all with the driver's side, though. The wife "helped" me, so add in ten minutes for that, too.
We thought they were defective. Only the top half? Well, I understand now, but for a few minutes there I was getting pretty pissed off.
Truck-Lite Oddity Report:
We tested them in all modes, with and without fogs, even with flashers and tuns signals on, motor running and off.
But we have the small problem with the flash mode being slow to turn off, so that you can only flash your high beams blow a certain speed if you want them to actually *do* anything besides stay on bright. Small price to pay for the ability to travel undivided, twisty Mississippi state roads in the dark for an hour most every night. I should see the deer much better and sooner before I hit them, heh, heh, heh...
If you guys have never owned a TJ or YJ you do not know how great that cheap, plastic grille is. It is a bear to remove the TJ grille and it is a three inch thick enclosed unit made of steel.
I have heard that the 4.0L TJ is much easier to do engine work on. I would agree with that. But I also have heard that the JK is much easier to modify. I would also agree with that as well.
Tradeoffs like that can be funny. While I love my TJ to death, my JK is quickly becoming my favorite vehicle ever...
And the Truck-Lites kick a$$!

|Texanrojo||Picked up the jeep from the dealership last night. Turns out they had to replace my bent AEV bumper (I kept) and my cracked tire carrier (I kept). and they replaced my whole tailgate. Would let me keep for some reason. But now my tailgate makes a different noise when it locks open. Idk if thats normal. But got my AEV reap bumper water pump kit in the mail! Haven't installed yet because I had to leave town again. Hopefully in the next couple days.|

Installed my 285/75r18 toyo open country at 2's. Installed measure exactly 34" tall, this is with a TF leveling kit and 1.5" wheel spacers. I have a 2.5" lift waiting to be installed. I do rub on the plastic air damn only at full turn... But I sure wouldn't do any trails as is. Spare won't fit on carrier either without a spacer or extension.

The pattern isn't 100% stock, but it's as close as you could get with LEDs. They're definitely brighter, but I didn't take any before pictures. I'll get some after pictures after dark tonight. The biggest improvement was in the color. I've got the eBay smoked lenses, and these bulbs make the color look better than OEM. I wasn't really happy with the color with the incandescent bulbs.

Got the Rancho 3" Trail System (black), rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks, teraflex bumpstops, teraflex exhaust spacer, all at a GREAT price. Thanks to the club rewards discount, I probably saved over $200! Should have everything in about a week! Now, to figure out how to put it all on!!|

Installed Rusty's 2 inch lift (springs / shocks) to provide clearance for 315/70/17 Duratracs
Ride is noticeably stiffer, but more stable over bumps.
Pics to come.

Installed Bilstein 5160 remote reservoir shocks yesterday. Huge improvement over the previous Rusty's RX-3 shocks I had before.
Feels like a new Jeep!
Gonna install the Poison Spyder hood this weekend, too. Can't wait!

|relyt||I put in LED brake and turn signal bulbs. No resistors required, and no hyperflash. They're a little expensive, but considering you don't need to buy a separate load resistor they're not horrible.|
