dvdsjk I've been very busy with work this summer and kind of left this thread in no mans land. Special apologies to 1Topp and all you guys whos feedback fueled this build!!! I did sell her. One of the hardest I ever sold! But the offer was fast and unbelieveable. It was a way to finally get into a Rubi and didnt cost me a cent. I actually recieved the wheels and tires as a second set in the transaction! Leaving this one with a couple of pics. Oh the new build : http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/new...ct-169639.html I am throwing the half top idea around for this one!

dvdsjk I actually have to shorten it an inch to bring it in a bit. I want this now to fit it in the hard cab like the jk8's. They will swing in to above the wheel wells to run parallel with the main hoop. I still want the pickup look withe the top off. Looked a lot better with the top down. But fits pouring here now!!

1Topp Looks good.......... will they pull back to the rear some more ?
06-03-2012 09:15 PM
dvdsjk Trying this crooked, and yet to be painted rough draft!!! Chopping the YJ roll bar for pieces to make it look like the JK8 style roll bar kit!!

dvdsjk Getting her ready for summer. Soft top going on but I need some sort of fabbed pieces for a roll bar in the back section to make it look complete! Would like a piece that would 45 degree down to the rear of the back inner fender. Sort of like the old school roll bars. It would have to be a bolt in so I can remove it when its time to install the half top again!! Not to many fab shops in NEPA though! Still searching!

A lot of guys who resto old military jeeps from WW II and Korea have put these on.. Some are rigged to fire blank bursts with propane...
Wife shot that idea down weeks ago!! Said I cant have it unless we're invaded or something. I said then its too late!!

Not quite this yet but I did add apiece to the sport cage to make it a more complete look with the top off!!

Then added old style visors . They were a pain to open and close with the side bars!

Its a sport bar not a roll cage. When you look at it closely it is all about holding the seat belt brackets. It basicallly sits on a pod with a couple of tack welds floating on your thin metal fender! Thats why I enforced the front!
