fourty4magjr Ok just not familiar with dropping the trans never done it before lol so was going to try to avoid that if it is the problem. But just drive it for a bit and noticed the sound is not coming from up front the click is coming from the rear and the second video sound is coming from up front so I think the click is something else.

darkproximity you have to unbolt the torque converter as well, so you really gotta get the trans out of the way.. but you can at least inspect it to find out if thats the problem before you tear into it..

its common for the flex plate to crack, my friend replaced his in his cherokee a while back which i helped him with, he had the whole transmission dropped.. we replaced the harmonic balancer at the same time, as a bad balancer is known to make the flex plate crack.

fourty4magjr Yeah sorry took it on my phone it's way louder on it and very quiet on my comp so that's probably why it's do quiet when you listen to it but thanks a bunch for the reply you gave me something else to look at this dang click has been bugging me for a whole now. Now I heard that you can push the tranny back far enough to get a wrench in there to get it off is that true or do I absolutely have to drop the trans?

darkproximity its time consuming, you'll have to drop the transmission to replace it.. but its hard to say if thats what it is for sure, if i had more clear sound.. get under the jeep and record and have someone move the shift lever if you're comfortable with that. its such a faint noise especially in the 2nd video

Hmmm thanks for the reply maybe that's what's causing this noise as well. What do you think?
