if you are only going to be running 33's then go HP D30 front and D44/8.8 rear

4.0l sahara from jeep forum

AX-15 3.83, 2.33, 1.44, 1.00, 0.79
NV3550 4.01, 2.33, 1.39, 1.00, 0.78
I've seen 2 different sets of numbers for the 6 speed, do not know which one is correct -maybe one is for the export models.
NSG370 5.014, 2.831, 1.789, 1.256, 1.00, 0.828

4.0l sahara Ya that is weird I thought they had 3.73 hold on I'll find the gear ratios.

MR.CLIFFORD I don't remember that being the case. Just my own personal recollection of driving a 6 speed. I'm confused why he has a 6 speed and 3.07s.

I belive that the ratio is about the same except for a lower first speed. But I think that 6th gear is about the same a 5th gear on a 5spd

4.0l sahara Ya I thats right don't know why 3.53 came to mind. I'm tired.

Changing Diff Gears

Further to my recent posting I have done some research into the suject. Here is what I have: My 2006 four liter six speed Wranger has a Dana30 front and Dana35 rear axel with 3.07 gears from the factory. I lifted it and fitted 33X12.5 Baja Claws. I found out today that someone at the place I work can do the work (having experience building several race cars etc). He asked me to check to see if the gear carriers in the diffs would accept a change to 4.10 gears. I called the dealership and was told that I did not need new carriers. Assuming that this is correct; new gears will run $4-500 for two sets. I was advised that 4.10 would be the best ratio to have for 33's. Can anyone reccomend a supplier for gears? Actual specs woudl be good. If I have my buddy at work fit the gears for me I want to make sure I buy the right ones.
