|01 TJ Wrangler||yeah, im about 90% sure it wont hit anything it i pull it to the right and back, and if it does rattle, il get another pipe put on.|

Only thing it might do is maybe rattle against something if it gets too close to it. (Springs, Shocks, Rear End, Supports, etc.) You'll just have to look and try to VIZULIZE where
the pipe will go by moving it back is all. OTHER THAN THAT, it won't hurt nuthin.

|01 TJ Wrangler||And I think* I'd have the room to pull the tail pipe back, I just don't know if it would hurt anything.|
|03-10-2012 02:50 PM|
|01 TJ Wrangler||Theres a bend right after the muffler. And I can move forward any more unless I removed the skid because i cant get to the pipe to cut it.|

As was stated above ^^^, BUT~~ The Tail Pipe is just an extension of the Exhaust
System, and all though you may not be able to move it (>) rearward, take a look and
see if you can remove 3"s from the Tail Pipe section to allow for the 3"s you need for
installation. That might be an alternative you could look into. I'm just not 100% sure
at this point on EXACTLY HOW your current Tubing is set up with Bends, etc. YOU
will have to evaluate that by looking and making that decision.
ALL SO, DON'T remove the Cat, That could cause you a lot of issues in the future,
especially if you live in a regulated area, for resale, Registration, Inspections, on
Board Computer Diagnostics, as well as a list of others.
Auto Parts Stores DO SELL UNIVERSAL Hangers you might be able to incorporate.

|01 TJ Wrangler||thats the only one they had that would fit the jeep. its only around 2.5-3" too long. what if i took the hangers off and use some sort of wire like a clothes hanger for temp. support?|
|03-10-2012 02:19 PM|
Short answer: no.
Long answer: You may be able to move the tailpipe rearward a little bit, but not much, and not nearly enough to make room for what you want to do. Trade the glasspack for a shorter one maybe?

Quick exhust help please!
I just got a 28" Thrush Glasspack for my 2001 TJ 4.0l and i really dont want to cut the cat off, because i really dont want to risk the fines i could get since im still in highschool. and i dont want to drop the skid plate since im the only one here to do it. but my question is its about 3" too long to fit where the old muffler was with out dropping the skidplate
and im wondering if i cut the old muffler off if id be able to pull the tail pipe towards the rear of the jeep to make it fit?
i just wanna know befor i go cutting stuff and end up stuck with no muffler for a few days...
