Agreed, I just got my rubi about a little over a month ago and love it! You basically have a brand new TJ rubi. Love the half doors too, can't wait till warmer weather cause your picture makes me jealous.

Threecard I think you made a great choice. Maybe I'm crazy, but I didn't think 20K was out of line as a starting point.

Looks just like my '04, except for the half doors and wheels.

ny97tj Great deal. There is a 2003 rubicon with 8700 miles the owner is asking 21500 for sale near where I live.
03-15-2012 03:04 PM
Granimal That is incredibly low mileage! I can't say whether that is a good deal or a bad deal, but I've been looking for almost a year for an '05 or '06 Rubicon myself. Seen prices all over the map. I finally found one on Tuesday of this week - it is an '06 Rubicon, White, 6-speed, full doors, soft top, completely stock with just under 38K miles for $17K.

SGTRock Great price and the 2003-05 are in high demand and hold their value well. With that low a mileage you made a great buy so enjoy it. With all the extra parts added on you got a bonus.

div4gold That's a beaut, I'm partial to the light khaki metallic also.

I fully understand your attraction to this vehicle and your willingness to pay his asking price, but don't set yourself up for a big loss where you have a totaled out Jeep that you still owe money on....happens everyday.

Let NADA be your guide. Check with your insurance Co and READ the fine print, then inquire about additional insurance to cover your investment....Consider buying "gap" insurance but also fully understand the fine print there.

Good luck on your purchase....ME, I'd jump on it, but I'd make sure it was properly insured to protect me financially.
Just to add to this...depending on your insurance company, some will insure the mods if you contact them and list the mods (it will raise your rates some). I know I contacted Geico regarding covering my suspension mods and they were willing to cover it for a small increase in my premiums.

nmtj I somewhat disagree with the previous post. My vw gti was just totaled a couple weeks ago and I had a mazda 3 that was totaled about a year ago. I think I got a fair price both of the times. They look at a lot of different factors like similar cars for sale, condition, location, nada, bluebook and historical data. They do not take into account any aftermarket parts so if it is totaled you should pull all them off. I've had gap insurance both times and didn't need it, but I will continue to purchase it.
