ch520c Welcome, I am new to Wrangler Forum, 6 years in Lompoc. Mine is an 05 TJ. heading down to Ventura Fair Grounds for an off road show this weekend. We should hookup with TjWranglerMan some time and explore the local mountains.... as far as adding on to what you already have, I agree with all the statements made so far. It just depends on what you want to do and where you want to go when...

Lmao thats true.

Thanks everyone for the welcome's. I've already started doing some research for it. Now I gotta narrow it down to what I want to do first and then save the money.

DaK Welcome aboard. Nice area up there. Was in Buellton for awhile.

My basic advice is this.... leave your jeep stock for about yr. Learn to wheel it like it is, learn its strengths and limitations as a stock unit while wheeling with experienced people. While out wheeling look over other people's rigs, ask various questions of why they lifted to X level with Y tires, why did they choose the suspension, bumpers, winch, CB, skids etc that they have? And the all important question to them is, "If you could do it over again what would you do different." Um yeah that one gets interesting some times. Also, do your research there is plenty on this board and others about your rig and the mods people have done to them, good bad and indifferent. Great place to learn and not repeat.

OH, back to the CB for a minute. Essential trail equipment IMO. I personally disliked being out on the trail with everyone yapping on the CB and not being able to hear what was going on. Once we got one it made all the difference in the world about feeling part of the run.

Oh yeah, JEEP is an acronym for:

Wife calls it the Barbie machine, B@#ch has everything and just when you think you are done, BAM... something else YOU HAVE GOTTA HAVE! I tell her she is partially right, JEEP's are like women, "Never done accessorizing". ;-)

suicideking Congrats on the purchase! As you have already figured out, a stock jeep is like a blank canvas. Say goodbye to all of your spending money! I got mine in October and have already put thousands into it with no end anywhere in sight!

geocash Hate to give you the bad news but the cost of the Jeep is the cheap part. The accessories will kill you. You need to check out Quadtratec they have a good selection of Jeep parts. The price might not be the lowest but they can help you with your selection and the price is fair.

First time Jeep owner. New here

Hey everyone just bought my first jeep about a week ago. I've always loved jeeps but never had the opportunity to own one until I moved out here. I am originally from West Michigan. As of right now I live down by Lompoc and I would like to get to know some people around here and learn about some good trails and places to go locally. Now for my jeep, it's a 2003 Wrangler x with just under 60,000 miles blue in color soft top and stock. I really wanna get a 3-4 in lift on it and I would also like to learn about other things I could put on the jeep. So as you can tell I don't know allot about them that is why I am here to learn and to ride. Thanks.
