Raziel I concur!!!

Most of the defects that would happen when a new model is release happens within the first 1-3 year models. So I would wait to get a new model in it's 3+ generation model.

pat@fieldsauto.com Ours are loaners, we have about 50 of them. All new Chrysler Jeep or Dodge products all with less than 5000 miles on them. It's part of our deal when you buy from us. Free loaners for life.

Most dealers will try to accomodate the customer and it sounds like the OPs did. That is what matters.

I had to try 4 (!) different dealers before finding one that provided good service for my Jeeps. Luckily, they're all near by.

Unfortunately, Jeeps are great, but most of the dealerships absolutely suck.

Why, because after the 3rd year of production you won't have any problems between 36,000 and 100,000 (or infinity with the lifetime warranty)?

A single failure in the A/C system at 95,000 miles could cost more than the extended warranty. A broken Nav unit would also cost as much as the extedned warranty.

I'm not seeing your logic.

ORNGCR8 Totally up to the dealer. Most rent now rather than loan...less liability on their part. You wanna real loaner when it's in the shop at the dealer? Go buy a BMW or a Lexus. Other than that, it's a rental.

PA ARCTIC i found this interesting also. my local jeep dealer does not provide loaners. my 12 is in the shop for a water leak. it was not done yesterday before 2pm. i have to have it then to go to work. they called back and provided me with a rental. on them. it was good to see them step up.

Raziel base warn. is the same in the USA. Extended warn. usually not needed after the 3rd year production of new models.

GeckoJK The extended warranty on any Chrysler product is recommended. I am getting it on mine. It also covers a rental vehicle. The base bumper to bumper warranty is only 3 years or 60k km in Canada so it is even more needed than in the US.

Raziel Yea, I find that BS for the loaner/rental. I've worked for dealers for a good amount. Mostly VW dealers. And all I see left & right are loaners given out if the vehicle is going to be there over night. And in some cases, for the whole day.

I asked about the loaner at the dealer I bought mi beastie & he said the same thing. They don't have loaner & they don't give rentals. RAWR!!!

Cause I need to bring mine in for the throw-out/pilot bearing issue & a rental is a must for me.

As a first time Chrysler buyer, I suggest you buy a factory extended warranty (not an aftermarket one). Not only have my extended warranties on Jeep products always paid for themselves, you're guaranteed a rental car as part of the package.

As a first time Chrysler buyer I find the whole thing a bit disappointing. I expect them to stand behind their products like the experiences Iíve had with other car makers.

All that being said, I am still loving the Jeep and happy with it overall. It does have a special kind of charm that gets talked about on these forums quite a bit and I totally get it now.



But if I ever have the need for a minivan or econobox sedan, I wonít be getting a Chrysler.

I work at a dealership and no Chrysler will not cover a rental car or loaner car for it's customers unless there is some kind of major reason. Most dealers NOT ALL but most do not have loaner cars because of the cost and liability. Anytime you are driving a dealers car on a test drive or as a loaner the dealer is responsible for anything that may happen. What the service manager was getting at is just if you bought an extended service contract though zurich most likely that you would in fact get a rental car for free during repair times.

It is for GM. GM will pay up to $XX.XX a day for "Courtesy Transportation".

Chrysler/Jeep will only cover it if you purchased extended warranty and the vehicle is in the shop overnight.

Warranty work and loaner cars

I took my one week, 500 mile old 2012 Rubicon in to have the clutch noise/scraping issue investigated and resolved (it sounds like they are going to replace the clutch and throw out bearing)

I had this odd conversation with the service manager about how since I didn't purchase an extended warranty they might not be able to give me a loaner. I didn't have to protest much before he backpedaled and called Enterprise to rent me something.

This is the first time I've ever had this happen to me with any new car I've purchased. Anytime warranty work was required a loaner was automatically taken care of. I've bought Honda, Acura, Subaru, Lexus, Ford and Chevy and all of them had something done at one point, with me in a loaner.

This is the first Chrysler I've owned. Is this a Chrysler or Jeep thing? Is my dealer a special kind of jerk? I'm truly shocked by this.
