2xs You have air tools?
A good air hammer will blow them right out.
You will need a Ball joint tool to install the new one tho...

I use a kit like this.

19Wrangler91 Thanks fellas.. finally got that separated and now I am trying to remove the ball joint from the inner c. All the research I've done it seems that I need a ball joint separator to get the ball joints out. Are there Any alternative means to remove then and insert the new ball joints without a separator? I've used the pickle fork and these guys are not moving. Leaves me to believe these ball joints are the originals.

Nubby55 After you break it apart with the chisel, before you put it back together file the spots where it is hicked up from wipping the chisel in.

jr78racer some guys use a three jawed puller to separate the hub assembly from the axle and knuckle, but that is a BAD idea. by doing so you can damage the hub assembly or worse the differential components turning a sucky job into a nightmare for you and your wallet

jr78racer the caliper is off? the rotor is off? the axle nut is off? you got out the three 12 point headed bolts that hold the hub assembly to the steering knuckle? using a hammer and chisel separate the hub assembly from the steering knuckle. you'll either get just the hub assembly or you'll get both that and the axle. if you get both ok great whatever. it doesn't matter. once they're out drive down on the knuckle with a large sledge or use a pickle fork to separate the ball joints from the inner c. which ever works best for you.

flatline sounds like the unit bearing(hub) is stuck. there's write ups on how to remove. I use a big hammer knowing I'll need to replace the bearing.

ball joint /axle nut questions

So I have after much headache and hand cramps managed to take off the axle nut in an attempt to get to the ball joints, but after removing all the surrounding nuts I'm still having trouble removing the axle component... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
