new to the jeep world
Hey everyone, I bought an 04 jeep wrangler about two weeks ago.. I've never owned a jeep nor do I know anything about them except I've always wanted one. The guy I bought it from seemed like he took care of it and built it correctly.. here is what i know about it:
2004 wrangler columbia ed.
4.0L 5speed manual
zone left (not sure on size) maybe 4" or 6"?
skyjacker shock in the front by steering bar
32"x11.5" nitto trail grapplers on 16" moto metal rims with matching spare
smittybuilt bumpers front & rear & step sides
smittybuilt xrc 8 winch
smittybuilt 5th wheel tire rack thing on back
I am not sure if it has any other aftermarket parts in the axels/ trans/ motor. It does feel underpowered when accelerating but from reading on here thats from the bigger tires and stock gears??? also, there is a vibration in the steering from 35-45 ish mph and I'm not sure what is causing it? its not bad but noticable. also, I've noticed the speed odometer is off when using my phone gps. gps says 55mph and jeep reads 51-52mph. the jeep shifts smooth through all the gears and sooo much fun to drive!! I love it and plan to continue to upgrade things but first off I would like to get some advice on my new purchase as to if it was worth what i paid and where should I start. I think re gearing is first so it wont feel underpowered but ALL and ANY advice will be greatly appreciated.. thanks to everyone in advance..!!
PS: I travlel ~200 hwy miles/week for work and plan to also use it for weekend fun/ mudding.
