yjJEEPyj Can anyone give me any info about this th350?? Im thinking its the newer model.. Is that the desirable model?

03-23-2012 05:59 PM
yjJEEPyj Just put on the headmans and some new wires and plugs. I have to Get something to get the wires all cleaned up and away from the exhaust.

03-20-2012 12:40 AM
yjJEEPyj Well I ordered these headers.. Maybe they'll boost it a bit?

Hedman Hedders 69640 - Hedman Street Hedders - Suggested Parts - SummitRacing.com

I think you actually suggested them to me.. Im going to run new exhast pipe all the way back. Maybe 2 1/2 or 3?

Master4th Less HP but a lot more torque. Plus if all this info is right you have a 4 bolt main, which is a stong engine to build.

Im not sure that HP stated is correct either. One site said 185hp.
03-20-2012 12:23 AM
yjJEEPyj I must of gotten it wrong. So 165 HP?? I'm going to have to do something about that.. Was hoping to just throw it in.. but i think i need some more power then 165HP
03-20-2012 12:20 AM
Master4th I cant seem to find that second number metioned.
03-20-2012 12:02 AM
yjJEEPyj 165 HP? lol thats less then my 4.0!

That kinda sucks!
03-19-2012 11:56 PM
Master4th Ok so you have:
V= Flint Built December 3rd, 1981
UHX 1981 350 165 4 con cab, a/t, A.I.R.
UHX = 1981 350 with 165 HP and a 4 bolt main,

Con Cap [not sure what that is]

Automatic trans, with air conditioning.
03-19-2012 11:54 PM
yjJEEPyj there was this number under the engine code... it went....

V1203UHX...... Then under that it was kinda faded but i think it was..
TB0505280
03-19-2012 11:50 PM
Master4th On the back of the engine there could be a partial vin. near where the bellhousing hooks.
03-19-2012 11:41 PM
yjJEEPyj ok if im reading it right.. It's V1203UHX
03-19-2012 11:37 PM

03-19-2012 11:32 PM
yjJEEPyj Ive been looking using this link...

03-19-2012 11:27 PM
Master4th Get that head casting number if you found it.
03-19-2012 11:19 PM
yjJEEPyj It would be on the block not the heads correct?
03-19-2012 10:52 PM
Master4th Somewhere on the passenger side if I remember correctly.
03-19-2012 10:51 PM
yjJEEPyj Where is the second code
03-19-2012 10:46 PM

03-19-2012 10:15 PM

EFE, it blocks off or restricts one exhaust at the header to re-route the exhaust through the intake to help warm up. Basically an emissions device that was a bad idea before it was thought up.

Remove it, its such an outdated item, and has a high a failure rate.

350 turbo transmission REBUILT with shift kit - $400 This is a 350 turbo transmission that is a short shaft transmission with a shift kit installed and it has the heavy duty steel clutches. This transmission fits the 1987 or earlier cars or trucks that are non electronic, and it does not have overdrive. this will work in cars or trucks. We can install this transmission for you for an extra cost. 400.00 cash.

Chevy 350 Turbo Tranny Bolt Up And Go - $175

Good Tranny Pulled from 83 silverado...about 10,000 mi. on rebuld (tc. too). wrecked the front end scrapped truck and sold motor. Tranny still good. O.B.O
The bellhousing is what matters, its what bolt pattern you need to match to your block. When you clean your engine up there should be a casting number. That will be a wealth of information about where what and how your engine.

Also make sure your getting a 4x4 tranny or the tailhousing will be wrong.

yjJEEPyj I would love to go TBI but it's out of my price range for now. So Im just going to roll with the carb till I get some more cash.
03-17-2012 02:03 AM
2xs Early 80s Chevy engines weren't the best, your better off usign that block and converting it to TBI, TBI is simple, and WAY more reliable then any carburetor.

You will need to remove ALL your Jeep computer stuff, Sorry, but they are not compatible.
