FretSpot Anyone using the Spidershade UNDERNEATH the Trektop or Supertop? So that if you flip them back you still have sun protection, and possibly a place to slide the windows into?

tjike I have the Trektop NX on my 02 and absolutely love it. I chose this one because Of the look and so I can fit in my garage. I don't carry an emergency top and just suck it up but I tend to check the weather often. If I don't have anyone in the backseat I will put the windows under the seat in a case I made out of a bed sheet, but that's only if I'm traveling.

superdavis78 I like they way they look mainly. I wanted a Trektop NX for my TJ, but talked myself out of it for no reason. Then when I got the Supertop NX, I wanted to send it back and get a Trektop NX. The Supertop was awesome and easy to install....and it was pretty much an OE top, other than the top prop and sunrider....all great features.

Here where I live, most JK's are hard tops, and some are OE tops....the Trektop is something different...and I like the option of taking the windows out and having that safari bikini top.

FretSpot Hey Superdavis,

Thanks for your input. I'm wondering why after you had a Supertop NX, you would prefer a Trektop NX?

superdavis78 I had a 2000 Sahara and put a Supertop NX on it. It's a good top and I liked it. After I got it, I wanted a Trektop NX. Just depends on what you want. The Supertop NX uses a frame system and you have more headroom. The Trektop NX uses the roll bars and you lose some headroom. If you want to be able to take the top off and put it up quick in case of storms, showers, etc...go with the Supertop...since it folds back. But again, it just depends on what you want.

I traded my TJ a couple days ago for a 2010 JK with a hardtop, and I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Trektop NX....

Trektop NX or Supertop NX?

Hey Guys,

I've been searching and reading on these two tops, and I'm torn on which to get. I have a 2000 TJ, but it's my first Jeep and I just got it last October, so I don't have a lot of experience with it to help me know which top I would ultimately prefer.

I understand that the Supertop uses a frame, that it gives you a bit more headroom, and is quicker to go completely topless. Also, you can just roll the top back and thus always have it with you in case of a change in weather.

The Trektop NX has the Safari option, larger rear windows (?), and doesn't require the frame. Also has lower outer profile if that's important for your lift/garage/etc. And it's a bit cheaper. Am I missing any other benefits here?

Those of you that have the Trektop - when you completely remove it, do you carry any kind of emergency top in case of a weather change? Or do you just suck it up and deal with it? I'm not great at sucking it up - I prefer to remain dry unless I'm at the pool.
