jimmysmith I have the extreme m/t in the 315/70R17's and I'm in the same boat as marinehawk, about 2k miles on them and they seem quieter to me than the stock BFG m/t I took off, overall they have been a great tire, I also got the buy 3 get one free so they ended up being much less than anything else I looked at.

MarineHawk I have a set of these in 12.5x35x17 with appx 2,000 miles on them. They weigh 63.5 lbs: Pro Comp Mud Terrain Tire Reviews

I don't have any probelms with their weight, but I have the 3.6L if that makes any difference.

I have only challenged them on (i) mud; (ii) snow; and (iii) and combo of both. They worked perfectly on that terrain.

I bought them when I bought the Jeep/lift because of the buy 3 or 4 and get one free thingy. These "tires" were pretty bumpy and jumpy up to a couple of weeks ago. I run them at 35 psi. But, I fixed this by installing these:

Synergy Suspension Chromoly Tie Rod;
Synergy Suspension High Steer Drag Link (flipped);
Synergy Suspension Adjustable Front Track Bar (replaced less-adjustable ProComp TB);
Synergy Suspension Front Track Bar Bracket;
Synergy Suspension F911 Hardware Kit; and
Synergy Suspension Adjustable Front Lower Control Arms (replaced fixed ProComp LCAs).

Now the tires drive extremely well on the road. So, maybe it wasn't the tires, and in any event, with the right suspension, these tires work great for me.

I honestly can't hear my tires at all. I can't explain the difference over others who can. Maybe I can't hear sound in that particular frequency.

I've heard that these tires don't do as well in the 2nd-half of their wera life. If so, you should account for hom many miles are on these if you are buying them used. I have no opinion on that yet because I only have 2K miles on them so far.

In hindsight, if I were buying ProComp again, I would buy the Xtreme MT version: Pro Comp Xtreme Mud Terrain MT Tire Reviews

They're 9.5 lbs heavier in my size, but they have tougher sidewalls. I'm a heavy-3-ply-sidewall type of a guy. I don't race my Jeep, and like bullet-proof tires over Prius-like mpgs anyway. In any event, I get 16.5-17.0 mpg in mixed driving now which makes me :-)

JEEPDON I am running Procomp MT's-- there will be road noise. I guess how much you can stand may vary according to the cost savings. I use mine mainly for off road and trails. I have aired down to 10 psi without any problems. I don't know how good the side wall is in sharp rocks, etc. So far no problems. If you are in to running mud holes, they sure seem to work great in the mud. I just idled through a spot yesterday that stopped me with the original Bridgestone Dueler A/T''s!!

Not as loud as some, but certainly not quiet at highway speeds.

chris.george I have a set of LT315/70R17, XTREME M/T TIRE BY PRO COMP.

The only advice I have is that they're pretty loud tires, and make sure NOT to put them up to 30+ PSI, they *will* ride hard and wear on the outside. I ride mine around 26-28psi.

Kgriff Thanks for the replies guys!! Going to do a little more research, but that price is calling my name!! Worried about weight and road noise, it will be a while before I can regear. but wow what a cost savings. It's only a good price if I will be happy with them though.
