|strohm||I was admiring my jeeps beuty her name is sarah by the way (Get it Sahara) any way I was inspecting the leaf springs and if im not mistaking the springs are all ready on top of the axle I'll post pics of it maybe Friday.|

I cant belive you have 9 inches of under-spring lift.
Did you install it all yourself? or was the guy that owned it before you
smoking that whacky tobaccy?

ya, they make soa kits that are mainly bolt on, or you can do some fab work yourself. tires aren't your problem, change to soa you'll be happy. you can run any 6" lift shock, and it will ride nice. stay away from add a leafs (stiff) and i've had bad luck w/ tough country springs (stiff). o.e. replacement springs are a good bet
i've never seen shocks welded to a frame, got pics of that?

you have 9 inches of spring under lift??. how's your kidneys??. go with the yj guy. spring over gives you 6 inches and rides like stock. and if you add an inch or two from there, it still rides nice. i wouldn't mess w/ shackles, and spring under. waste of time if you wanna get serious, and have a nice ride. and it will perform much better off road.
ouch, i just thought about riding in that jeep again.

well...it is a jeep i run 33's with a 2 inch shackle lift, the stock drive train had 167,000
i never did any of that slip yoke eliminator stuff and i wheel the piss out of it, still great shape..so anyway its ruff but i mean it is a jeep

SOA lift give you about 5.5" of lift. If you buy NEW stock leaf spring assemblies, you will probably get about 6 or 7 inches of lift at first, but SOA lifts put a little more stress on the leaves, which is why I would suggest buying new stock replacements.
Rear assembly: $75
Front assembly: $75
In addition to the SOA lift, you will need longer brake lines, I suggest that on the stainless steel braided variety, a t-case drop kit, and a SYE kit to bolt up to your t-case, along with a CV driveshaft.

Back Breaking Ride
Hey guys Im a noob to suspension. I have a Very clean 1988 Jeep wrangler sahara 4.2 5 spd. Tared frame, webber carb, wild ext 33's, rancho shocks, add leaf, leaf spring total lift is nine inches. My ride is extremley harsh every little bump is felt. After a while of driving through the back roads of pa my back feels like it just got run over. Im looking to buy a 4 inch lift with 2 inch shackles any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do wheel the jeep every weekend winter or summer. Thanks guys
