Tube seals are helpful depending on where you live. In souther CA where there is little to no mud then I agree with you but places where mud is more common then yes it is a good idea.

In GA i try to aviod it but sometimes there nothing I can do and it is part of the wheeling.

Jerry Bransford Oh, I've never seen that. I can't imagine it is needed since the axle shaft is well supported at both ends.

Leslee No jerry this was inside the tube, like a spacer for alinging up to go through the seal at the diff. end...

Jerry Bransford That plastic ring is just there to keep the bigger rocks and pieces of debris out. Which is all the axle tube really needs in my opinion.

Axle Tube Seals

Today i started my tube seal project. I`am going to replace the pads, have the roters turned and put in new spicer u-joints.when i pulled out my axles there was a white plastic ring on the end on the axle inside the tube. when i reinstall is this white axle support needed?
